Car/Dynomat questions.

First off, its been a LONG time, good to be back. i was looking into getting some dynomat-like substances into my car. i could think of no better people to ask then the SPCR community. i found some Edead on amazon for $1.00 a square foot. has anyone done anything like this and can anyone offer advic...

my experience with the XP-120 - i love it. the clips are nothing but steel wire bent for the job, but as flimsy as they seem, i accidentally left both the fan and the XP-120 in while shipping my rig cross country, and it diddnt budge ( whew) yes, you can passively cool the xp-120, matter of fact i a...

No worries Simon... Being sucked into the Intel market for so long, I have untill the last 2 days seen anything AMD as totally ailen...it even took me a few hours to grasp that you can depend on pincount/socket to translate, but fortunately, as I understand now, except for the socket and on-chip mem...

Thanks all, Unfortunately, I have decided to postpone my design/build of "sven" for an indefanite preiod. -possibly wait for the "cooler" prescotts to come on full force, and wait a bit for 1026FSB on the Intel side, allso the general mayhem in the Intell market is a bit too much to wade through rig...

Where to begin?... Right, First, I had some numbers goofed up there, they have been corrected. Secondly, I underclock normally in BIOS, boot to XP - then use AI booster to get the voltages down and the speeds down a bit more. Note that once underclocked, AI booster will show external Freq below 100M...

Slow, Cheap, Quiet, all 120's - Proposed Rig.

After a year or so thinking I could Get Away With "Knossos", A Xaser III ( I know, I Know) as a semi quiet rig, and finally mastering underclocking/undervolting when needed - and allso OC/OV when desired, I have elected to get away from the "Flexible- quiet or 747(okay, avation enthusiasts would und...

I am flexible. I have found that trying to underclock/undervolt gets me nothing, or raises my temps. (unless i crank the fans, which is not what were after here) running stock with minimum cooling, temps are appropriate at idle, good for surfing/studying...overclocking is good for gaming and high de...

a friend has 680's that do it too, seems quality took a back seat in that model. i opted for the cheaper 640's, and no hiss nor hum to report. not a super quality system to begin with, a cheap sissy in tearms of 5.1, but for what they are, and what i paid, ( i bet they can be found at sub-$50 by now...

It depends on what the hum comes from. There is basicly 3 options: 1. PC sound card is low quality, so there is actually a hum coming out in the sound when it souldn't. 2. Amplifier is of poor quality or designed is a way so there can easilly be some hum when there is no input. In this case you sho...
