A bit off topic: If you are buying a C2D to overclock, then buy the E4300 instead. It has a 9x mulitpier instead of the E6300s x7. The E4300 will not stress the mobo as much when finding its max speed.

Ralf, your solution looks great. My problem is that I only have two 5 1/4 bays available, and need at least two drives.

Mobile rack solution

Has anyone tried a mobile rack solution that is reasonable quiet? I’m using a server that for functionality needs two swappable drives for backups. The problem is to find a storage solution that is reasonable quiet. At the moment it’s using two of these. http://www.raidsonic.de/en/pages/products...

I had this discussion on 2cpu.com http://forums.2cpu.com/showthread.php?t=73233 and a couple of other places. Maya is apparently one of the only professional apps that don’t see any real benefit for using a Quadro card. The bench you refer to doesn’t tell the whole story. Compare the different t...

No problem with fitting the 7900GTX. The dual-slot cooler goes below the card, so it doesn’t go any closer to the heatsink than the 6500 on the pictures! It does cover the PCI slot between the two PCIe slots.

dB Meter measuring under 30dB?

Hi,

I’m currently looking for a dB that measures sound levels under 30dB. I have had a good look around, but all dB meters I managed to find starts measuring at 30dB or above.

Does anyone know about any that do go down under 30dB?

Thanks,
Mikael

Re: Modding Sonata PSU with AcoustiFan AF80CT

Thanks RaNDoMMAI, There are a couple of problems that I should have spesified in the first post. 1. Cant u just pull it out and save it? No, the stock fan is soldered, so it can’t be “unplugged” in a normal way. 2. Use the same connector that the old fan was using Impossible, I don’t fancy to solder...

Is it ok to cut off the wires that connect the stock PSU fan? 2. Should I connect the fan to the “fan only” connector? 3. Where in the PSU sho...
