I just check and can confirm that the PSU fan is not spinning at all most of the time. I mistakenly think it is the PSU fan that is making the noise. The noise is coming from either the stock 120mm fan on the top of the Silverstone Fortness FT2 or the NH14 or the three 140mm fans on the bottom of th...

The new PC has been built for a few weeks now and is running fine. I notice a "problem" though. At the beginning, the fan on the X-650 stop spinning while the system is in low load. Now I notice the fan is constantly spinning and I can hear the noise. Any idea why? Either you are using more juice, ...

Hi outbackyak, yes I am talking about the module that is attached on the PSU on the 5th pic. I see mine have yellow cables too. Maybe I have only able to see the yellow cable sides so I thought it looks different. I read somewhere that SSD has to be plugged into the lowest sata port. In this motherb...

Hey outbackyak, I have the same PSU, motherboard and SSD. I notice some of the cables attached to the PSU are yellow. I don't have any yellow cables on mine. What sata port do you connect the SSD to on the motherboard? What about your secondary HD? I haven't fire up my new build yet, but I connect t...

If I get the 160GB SSD, I should be able to fit all programs onto it without worrying it ever run low and leave with lots to spare. If I go for 80GB, I probably still have lots to spare after the OS and all programs. For storage, I have lots of mp3, mp4, ripped dvd movies. Will it not make sense if ...

Which 3.5" drive to pair with Intel X-25M?
I plan to get an Intel X-25M SSD for OS/programs. I can't decide on a fast and quiet 3.5" for storage. Which drive has the best speed/quietness ratio? Never pay attention to the color. Which brand/color is the fastest yet quiet drive? I read both WD and Samsung have green and blue. Samsung has F1, F...

So half a month has passed since my last post and I still haven't decided on the motherboard. Can someone help me decide? Ask me questions. Do I really need USB3 and sata6? As for the noise, I notice one poster is using P55-UD3 and there is no whine. All others are using the updated Gigabyte "A" ver...

Scott, H50 is suppose to be installed so the fan blows air into the case. I don't think it is a good idea with three bottom fans blow air up and the top fan blows air down. The radiator doesn't have dust filer either so dust enter the case. I read good and bad comment about it. Some people complain ...

Anyone use Corsair H50 in Fortress FT02 and still able to maintain positive air pressure? Corsair suggests mounting the radiator/fan at the back of the case as intake. The top of the FT02 is the back of normal case. Is it possible to mount the unit on the middle bottom fan position? How is the noise...

Please check my build's compatible/bottleneck issue
Can someone check to see if all these parts will be compatible/bottleneck with each other? I am pretty firm on most parts except for the video card and HSF. I am building a silent PC. I choose these two video cards because they are fanless. If I choose the 4550 over the 5750, will the 4550 bottlenec...

I see you use Kingston ram. Is there a particular reason you use that brand? I am also considering Kingston because they are the 'brand' for memory. I don't plan to overclock my i7 860. I wondering which of these are good for me? What is XMP?

What is the second best quiet case behind the Solo?
I want to want the Solo for my 17 build. The problem is I find it to be a bit small and the lack of 120mm fan at the front. Two 92mm front and one 120 rear plus 120mm PSU mean more air out than in. I prefer positive than negative pressure. I can go fanless at the front. It wouldn't be a problem in w...

Where to buy Megahalems Rev.B in Canada?
It is the best HSF that SPCR has reviewed here. I hope I can go fanless with a i7 860. Anyone knows where this giant can be purchased in Canada? Do you know Mike?

I think I will get the Nexus Value 430W as reviewed here as the quietest PSU. The problem is the fan is under the unit. Would that cause any problem in terms of positive airflow? Does the Solo has opening at the crossbar right under where the PSU sits? Any suggestions if these parts should be replac...
