HDD Noise in a DAW

If you are going to use 4 HDDs, my recommendation is P150, so you can decouple HDDs from the case easily.

I have a FLAC library which is about 100G. I use MediaMonkey for organizing/playback. I think you want simple straightfoward answers/simple assembly. I will make suggestions of parts that will be enough for your music library. 1. AMD Athlon64 Socket 939 CPU. Any single core 939 CPU should be suffici...

Great decision. Mac vs. PC arguments lead to no fruits and make people angry for some reason.

I picked up on a price comparison because I thought it was absurd and it would have been just as absurd if it had been between an AMD versus Intel system, regardless of the operating system used. I agree. That comparison makes PCs look good for sure by comparing All-In-One system to one which is not.

Do not open PSU or CRT monitors unless you know what you are doing. They can have high voltage inside for a long time after it is unplugged.

Just wondering what you use as reference monitors NamJangNamJa/Edward. I had Yamaha NS10M with Hafler long time ago. I also used to use Tannoy Active Reveal. My Seasonic in my current system is SS-300FS Active PFC B3. I guess the B3 of SS-300FS is before the A3 revision of Super series. It is already loud from the time I turn the computer on. Creating low latency memory with higher capacity is not as easy as creating low latency memory with lower capacity. It is like that the fastest cars are not the biggest ones.

If you compare the 1.6Ghz G5 and the Athlon XP 2700+ scores, you see they are pretty close for the most part. The G5 also manages to beat or match the P4 2.8Ghz in some areas. Since iMac G5's frontside bus is slower than PowerMac G5, and because of the 64-bit ability of G5 processors, I would say 1...
