I used to have the SyncMaster 245B 24" until relatively recently (in fact I had/exchanged 3 until I got one with a bearable buzz!!!)
I now have the Dell Ultrasharp U2412M... Cheap(ish) and utterly silent!

Re: New Seasonic G360 bad whining
Power supplies seem to be the bane of all PC builds (whether striving for silence or not!?) I have recently had an Antec earthwatts 380W "turn off" a PC after running for a random number of days... I bought a new motherboard (ASUS P8Z77-I Deluxe) and it refused to work with my Nexus NX-5000 R3... I ...

Re: Akasa Euler Fanless case
The i7-3770S is definitely too much for the case, under load. I hoped the 3770T might be the maximum one could use in the case, and therefore have quad core, but alas it seems not... It would appear that for IvyBridge, the maximum is dual-core.. I settled on the dual-core i3-3220T and it gets nice a...

Re: Akasa Euler Fanless case
Just thought I'd add my experience with this case. I wanted to build the most powerful setup I could, so I tried an i7-3770S (65W). But, with this CPU at full blast, the temperatures got too hot and the CPU started reducing it's speed (intel's utility says it wasn't throttling but it was dropping th...

Re: Fan Control on Sandy Bridge/Fractal R3 system
My recent experience with socket 1155 Gigabyte motherboards is they suffer from electric squeal! And this becomes the most noticeable noise in the entire system (fans and hard-drives low frequency rumbles/wooshes are comfortable to listen to in comparison) It's not scientific as I have only used 1 o...

I would pay millions for a truly silent 24" 1920x1200 monitor with a good panel (gaming + viewing angles + colour gamut)

Have you tried turning off your monitor when you hear the buzzing?
My 24" TN Samsung has by far the most noticeable buzz of any of my components

Re: PICO PSU enough to power HTPC?
Yep!
My Silverstone LC19 was repeatedly crashing until I replaced the PSU with a PicoPSU. I've never had a problem since. And I am running a relatively hungry NVidia 9300 mobo with e5200 cpu...

Re: AMD HD 6900 series launch & reviews
Has anyone got any experience with the stock fan noise of either the 6970 or the 570. I'll grab whichever is quietest at idle! :D (I am not bothered by a bit of fan noise during a game) Also - totally unrelated - are either of these cards flexible/productive/useful at accelerating H.264/x264 encoding?

I use the 300W nightjar PSU in a NSK3480. It's regular ATX size so it fits perfectly :-D Who needs 450W in a non-gaming rig? ;-) Nice short note you dropped us there. May I ask how you fit your Nightjar into the Antec NSK3480? I have this combo here and didn't manage to squeeze the cables through th...

I have both cases ;-) I use the TJ08 for my gaming rig as it a tiny bit larger. It has a more substantial 'metal' finish too. I have my HD up the top and only have 1 optical drive... Otherwise, if mounting a harddrive in the cages it's a close fit with a ninja. Do SPCR people screw their harddrives ...

I agree with everything you're saying here. I have 2 x NSK3480 I run one with the bundled power supply and one with the Silverstone ST30NF. The fanned power supply makes this case unnecessarily loud! The ST30NF is absolutely perfect. It never gets more than warm (Im running a ninja'ed athlon x2 3800...

DFI Infinity RS482 - advice needed on coils squealing
I have had my RS482 a few months now and am very happy with it's performance and features. However the coils around the CPU squeal... Only very faintly on stock settings but badly when overclocking  I run a 3800+ x2 overclocked to 2.5Ghz @ ~1.4v with 2GB OCZ DDR500 powered by a seasonic S12-430...
