I dont really find the woosh of a fan annoying, its more the high-pitched noises that really bother me, they get into your head and gave me headaches. I suspended my HD, got a new PSU, and got a Zalman for my Radeon and got a nice fan on my HS and Im pretty happy at the moment, its not perfect, but ...

nothing wrong with that... Idles at 40 C are perfect, actually, any idle above 46 C for athlons is fine, so OC a bit if you want, or get a slower fan :D.

A good thing to note is that "blower" fans are extremely inefficient at slow speeds. I had a thermaltake blower on my cpu *vomit* and I had it undervolted to make it barably quiet and my idle for a 2400xp TB B @ 200x10 was 48C idle! I switched the fan to a sanyo petiace and now my temps are down to ...

I was wondering if you could post some pictues because im not too clear on how u did the cutting, because my 350 aurora has 4 wires running from it, probably 2 for the fan and 2 for the leds... anyway, just wondering if your psu has the "noise killer" sticker on it, because mine does.

yes, I have EXACLTY the same problem, the fan gets way too loud under any load or just when my temps go up... Because of a undervolted CPU fan, my temps are around 46 C (Athlon 2400xp at 199x10) at the socket and at around this temp, the fan starts getting loud... I opened up the fortron just to see...
