I found that modding the Enermax turned out to be nowhere near as good as buying a Nexus power supply. In the end, after all the work- that PS mopped the floor with it right out of the box...

my way of looking at it is this: the nexus absolutely rocks. im using a couple right now and they're extremely quiet. $30 is a drop in the bucket that you wont really miss later on, but you'll have a totally sweet power supply.

im with ya tim... i just built my new comp with a nexus 3000 and two 5v'd panaflo's... i pretty much have to check the LED's to make sure its on. it totally rocks. its a little toasty in there, but nothing too bad....

Pretty interesting, but it seems a little scary to me to have nothing but the fan in the power supply handling all the airflow duties... of course, this could be old news and everyone's already doing it, but hey- im just gettin' started

I got a 92mm Papst fan to replace the 92mm fan in my Enermax PS. I have completely taken out the 80mm fan (all this as per the recommendations here on the board) I had asked a couple months ago if there were any kind of modifications that needed to be done to do this or if the fan would just drop in...

Rusty, what did you use to block the vents on the Enermax?

Im curious what you would think about blocking the front vent regardless on that power supply. Im thinking now that I might do a couple of Papst fans in it (a 12dbA 80mm and a 23dbA 92mm) just for the extra air flow. Do you think blocking the front vent with this setup would be beneficial?

Let's say I replace the 92mm fan with a Vantec Stealth- would there be anything special that I would need to do or would it be as simple as just popping one out and popping the other in?
