Hmm I have a TNN300 and everything is fine (but that doesnt help you) From the layout of your motherboard everything is fine the CPU block should fit because the capacitors are not in the way. What do you mean by no bold in the middle of the Socket. Place the lower CPU block on the cpu, put the 6 he...

Only when its completely silent 'to you' is when your finished. For me it was a case of cost. How much am I willing to spend on silence? Over the years I have spend alot getting the next silent upgrade which was quieter by one db or so. I just deciding to get one big costly upgrade and im happy. I g...

Sorry for not replying I was busy doing the stuff documented in this thread. Anyway, I bought this CPU from ebay and it is now in my Zalman TNN 300. Heres a screen dump of the TCaseMax http://homepage.ntlworld.com/christopher.mcculloch/Tcasemax.jpg Did you lower its multiplier? I thought 3000+ got m...

*Update* ;( sniff I finally took delivery of more gel packs, I was able to fit five in total in the aluminium box. 2 bottom, 1 each side, 1 top. I still reached 55oC, but it did take a very very long time to reach that, probably 12 hours. Im gonna sell the raptor probably get £150 for it, and buy tw...

The ones im using are 10cm x 16.5cm yeah a bit small, but the only larger ones I could find are 12cm x 26cm too big for my box. I did get gel pacs suggested by someone in this forum. There called Chillerz you can cut them to size. They come flat and you have to soak them in water to fill them out, p...

OK ive ordered 6 more gel pacs, ill give them a try. If that doesnt work ill think about the other suggestions. I will either decide to live with the raptor or sell it on ebay and buy 2 X hitachi 7k100 100GB notebook drives and raid em. (only have 2 sata ports) Thanks everyone you have gave me alot ...

Maybe, but cause im using an undervolted A64 3000+ the idle cpu temp hovers around when the fan switches on for a minute then off. Zalman never specified I couldnt use a raptor with a their supplied rubber grommets. Seems its limited to a single platter drive or laptop drive. If it wasnt for the hig...

Thanks for all the replies!! I forgot to mention I do have a 92mm nexus fitted to the back, it turns on when the cpu its 35oC at a very low speed (using motherboards fan control). Although Im unsure if to mod the fan grill at the back its very restrictive, but taking a holesaw to the back of a £400 ...

Yeah I had similar sounding problem with the seasonic psu. Connecting a seasonic tornado using its 20pin, or a nexus 300w using the 20pin. It never worked with neither. I already bought a 20-24pin adaptor incase I had such a problem. Using the adaptor with the seasonic wouldnt work, using the adapto...

I had a similar problem with my tforce6100-939 box/mod im currently building, but this was because my seasonic tornado 300w wasnt compatible with the 24pin connector. Some people have been able to use a 20pin power supply with the tforce, but I couldnt. Also with a 20-24pin convertor my seasonic sti...

6600GT is faster at higher resolutions above 1280x1024 generally, performance wise there very close. Power consumption wise the 6800 according to xbitlabs consume's 40w at load. 6600GT according to xbitlabs consume's 47w at load. If you unlock the gigabyte passive 6800 to 16x6 pipes the wattage will...

Yes these processors are lower powered than 130mm, but I think amd is not making a big fuss about their processors low power because its not that low. Its similar to other amd die shrinks in the past. What xbit labs say is they tested the current on the 12v processor circuit if you look at the pictu...

Thanks for this information. I thought I was left with the option of a noisy stock cooler or the lottery of wether a silencer NV5 will be quiet enough, pre-installed or otherwise. If you read the sudhain thread carefully you will see that these ARE 8 pipe cards until you update the VGA bios to F2. I...
