Does the Thermalright Venomous X fit in the Antec Fusion Max case? I saw that the Scythe Orochi just barely fits.
Was planning on a build based on a Sandybridge set up. (probably i5-2400)

I have the LG GGC-H20L BluRay/HD-DVD drive. It's very quiet. When playing a BluRay movie it's virtually inaudiable from a couch sitting position if in a home theater. Even from a foot away it's very quiet. Only the initial seek/loading noises are really noticable when loading a menu or disc, skippin...

Any place sell DEMCiflex without their Cheesy Logo's on it?
I bought some from Performance-PCs.com and it has their Cheesy company logo on them.
Is there a store in the USA that sells them unbranded?

Yeah, I tried every which way to get them into the hole, twisting them both ways, pushing really hard, wiggling, etc. I ended up just reaming the holes out a bit with a power drill. And they fit perfectly now. Pretty easy fix, but I shouldn't have to do that with such an expensive heatsink. If it wa...

Megahalems Mega-poor tolerances.
Anyone else have problems with the Spring-loaded screws not fitting through the holes in the Cross bar aluminum plate that clamps onto the heatsink? Looks like I'm going to have to ream out the hole to get them to fit through. Really, Prolima? This is pretty poor engineering to me. Everything else i...

Look at the Lian Li A05. That will take pretty much anything, even an Orochi cooler. It is very light. and fairly compact. W 8.27; H 15.00; D 19.29; the Apevia X-QPACK II with a little dremel work will fit an HR-01 sideways. W 11.25; H 9.00; D 14.50; And if you reverse the exhaust case fan you can ...

I'm building this one to be a Photoshop workstation. I need as much RAM as I can afford, and 12GB of RAM is it. So 1156 is out of the equation since 4x4GB RAM is much more expensive. The money I saved on the RAM went into an X25-M SSD for the OS. :) I also want this workstation to be transportable, ...

Well, looks like even the HR-01 is going to have to go sideways too.
Here's a pic of someone's Asus Rampage II GENE with an HR-01 on it.

Nevermind. The sticker is very easy to remove once it's warmed up a little. It's not a tamperproof sticker at all. In fact, the warmth of the drive when it's been running for awhile should be enough. Just use a smooth plastic wedge to pry it. Don't use your fingers, since they'll stick to the adhes...

i meant they can be used interchangeably....besides, torx tips are more prone to warp and break than alan keys in some situations (but not all). for the hard drive, it would be best to use alan keys if you wanted to make it look like you were never there. Why? The screws are not black oxide coated ...

Oh, extra bonus. Not all SATA data cables fit. The locking tab type ones won't go in all the way because the retarded Icepack keeps it from going all the way in because it's thicker. Great, it won't even fit into any drive enclosure either because the SATA and power connector locations are different. It won't fit in my SmartDrive 2002 without modding it. I'm seriously regretting buying thie drive. I should've just bought another 640GB WD drive and short stroke partitioned it. -Ed

Re: Temps for Velociraptor
Normally 7200 rpm 2.5in drives run in the high 20's/low 30's so mid 40's is pretty hot. But this isn't a 7200rpm 2.5" drive. Honestly people seem to be seeing 2.5" and thinking laptop-drive and all the rules that go along with it. This is more like a 10k 2.5" SAS server drive. Different animal. Loo...
