Thermalright Venomous X fits in Antec Fusion Max case?

Does the Thermalright Venomous X fit in the Antec Fusion Max case? I saw that the Scythe Orochi just barely fits.

Was planning on a build based on a Sandybridge set up. (probably i5-2400)

I have the LG GGC-H20L BluRay/HD-DVD drive. It's very quiet. When playing a BluRay movie it's virtually inaudiable from a couch sitting position if in a home theater. Even from a foot away it's very quiet. Only the initial seek/loading noises are really noticable when loading a menu or disc, skippin...

Got some DEMCiFlex filters from FrozenCPU.com. They are completely blank. No logo's or printing on any kind on them. Not even DEMCiFlex's info. :)

That technique won't work since the logo's are back printed.

I contacted Frozen CPU and they say that the ones they carry do not have their logo on them supposedly.

Yeah, I'll keep an eye out on the temps. I've done some modding for extra cooling as well.

The Megahalems has a really nice mounting system otherwise, which makes up for the crappy tolerances.

Any place sell DEMCiflex without their Cheesy Logo's on it?

I bought some from Performance-PCs.com and it has their Cheesy company logo on them.

Is there a store in the USA that sells them unbranded?

Yeah, I tried every which way to get them into the hole, twisting them both ways, pushing really hard, wiggling, etc. I ended up just reaming the holes out a bit with a power drill. And they fit perfectly now. Pretty easy fix, but I shouldn't have to do that with such an expensive heatsink. If it wa...

Megahalems Mega-poor tolerances.

Anyone else have problems with the Spring-loaded screws not fitting through the holes in the Cross bar aluminum plate that clamps onto the heatsink? Looks like I'm going to have to ream out the hole to get them to fit through. Really, Prolima? This is pretty poor engineering to me. Everything else i...

Look at the Lian Li A05. That will take pretty much anything, even an Orochi cooler. It is very light. and fairly compact. W 8.27; H 15.00; D 19.29; the Apevia X-QPACK II with a little dremel work will fit an HR-01 sideways. W 11.25; H 9.00; D 14.50; And if you reverse the exhaust case fan you can ...

I'm building this one to be a Photoshop workstation. I need as much RAM as I can afford, and 12GB of RAM is it. So 1156 is out of the equation since 4x4GB RAM is much more expensive. The money I saved on the RAM went into an X25-M SSD for the OS. :) I also want this workstation to be transportable, ...

Well, looks like even the HR-01 is going to have to go sideways too.

Here's a pic of someone's Asus Rampage II GENE with an HR-01 on it.

Yeah, from the review here, it seems that the HR-01 Plus is about the same performance as the Megahalems with low airflow. Which is what this set up is going to be.

Another option would be the Thermalright HR-1 Plus with 1366 Bolt Thru kit.

It's listed as 110mm wide, but could be turned the other way too.

Given that the Ninja 2 is so hard to find, The HR-1 Plus might be a better option.

Backed by a paltry 2 year warranty. I'll be staying away from these.

Unless you're using it in an offroad vehicle, standard spinning platters are still more reliable for long term use. Well, I guess SSD's haven't really been around long enough to prove themselves.

Just suspending the Velociraptor wasn't all that effective in noise reduction.

Putting a bare Velociraptor in a 2.5" Scythe Enclosure and then Suspending it in a 3.5" NoVibes worked the best for me.

Re: Temps for Velociraptor

Normally 7200 rpm 2.5in drives run in the high 20's/low 30's so mid 40's is pretty hot. But this isn't a 7200rpm 2.5" drive. Honestly people seem to be seeing 2.5" and thinking laptop-drive and all the rules that go along with it. This is more like a 10k 2.5" SAS server drive. Different animal. Loo...
