I read the stuff on Stanford's site about the SMP client, but they made it sound like it was for quad core only -- it will run on a dual core? I see there is a v6.0 beta 1 and V5.91 beta6 for the GPU, as well as a v5.91 beta SMP. I assume these are what you're referring to? The beta's are stable? Al...

How are people getting these crazy high PPD numbers?

I'll be the first to admit that I'm no longer up on folding -- I've had a number of boxes running for a number of years. Ranging from an P4 2.4 to a couple of decent Intel Core 2 6400 boxes. I'm running a total of 8 clients and am just under 1600 PPD (I should really retire the old PIII, at 50ppd it...

Unfortunately no, I cannot control the fan using the bios or speedfan (I have it connected to the 4 pin header). According to everything I've read, the 4th pin is specifically for speed control -- in fact, Speedfan says that it's running at 29% (using speedfan to monitor, bios trying to control the ...

4 pin cpu fans

I just upgraded to Conroe and am using a Zalman 7000. However, apparently Intel now has moved to 4 pin cpu fans and fan speed control is lost without the 4th pin. Any recommendations on 92mm 4 pin fans? I'd like to swap a 4 pin onto the Zalman (which I did on one of my other systems a couple of year...

I've been out of the SPCR loop for awhile, but we may have a need for a bunch of new systems at the office. Is ARM systems still around?

I was really hoping to get pre-built, silent systems.

Thanks,

Yes, you can hang two drives in the 3.5" bay -- if you want to mod the 5.25 bay then you can hang two drives there as well.

There are some reports that recent versions of the case come with a 3.5" bay under the 5.25" bay -- but mine came 5.25" wide the entire height.
