HDPLEX fanless H3.SODD for sale: unused, boxed as new

I have one of the superb quality HDPLEX fanless cases for sale, location in VIC Australia. The H3 is no longer made, it is low-profile, very compact but still takes two 2.5" drives plus slot-loading DVD drive. Same case as reviewed by SPCR here , but without the power supply, IR or remote. http://ww...

Re: Haswell Low Power Builds

...there are not many reviews for H, B and Q series motherboards...
and practically none for Thin Mini-ITX boards :(

An opportunity for SPCR to fill the gap...?

Re: Haswell Low Power Builds

Thanks Vicotnik, yes I've seen your builds on your thread, and one of my options is using AsRock Z87E-ITX as the power efficiency is also very good... but I am concerned about the mSATA on the underside overheating.

Asus Q87T : 16W idle.

Is this average for a Haswell build, using a mini-ITX board?

Re: HDPLEX H1-S and ASRock mini-ITX

Thanks for the info, the AsRock boards do seem to be energy efficient (for instance see Anandtech ) and get good reviews. Does anyone have any experience with the AsRock Z87E-ITX as in the Anadtech review? This board features an mSATA on the underside, and my main concern is that this may get too ho...

Nearly twice the run time over IVB for similarly specc'd devices.
Indeed, but you'd expect a mini-itx board to achieve at least some efficiency gains.

I'd be interested to see how the Gigabyte board compares with the Asrock, MSI etc.

Re: Gigabyte GA-Z87N-WIFI Haswell Mini-ITX Motherboard

the Z87N-WIFI uses very little power under light load. It was more frugal than previously tested Sandy and Ivy Bridge combinations According to your data, Haswell offers a negligible improvement in power consumption. The Ivybridge H77 board has the same power consumption at idle and on basic tasks,...

Re: Idle power comparison on Intel B75 Mini-ITX boards

HFat you are correct! I found this recent review on a Polish site comparing the three B75 ITX boards. MSI has the most power efficient design and lowest temperatures. The temps (measured by probes on the VRMs) are quite high on the Gigabyte board. Although the Asrock board performs slightly better a...

Idle power comparison on Intel B75 Mini-ITX boards

Does anyone have any info on the power draw for the Mini-ITX Intel B75 boards, particularly idle power? The ones I'm looking at are the ASRock B75M-ITX, Gigabyte GA-B75N and MSI B75IA-E33. The Gigabyte board is reviewed here and shows very good energy efficiency with low idle power, but sadly the au...

Re: HDPLEX H3.SODD Fanless Mini-ITX Media Case

The 21W cited is estimated DC power. AC power draw during the board test with our standard old 400W Seasonic was more like 30W. OK so we need to compare 25W (HDPlex PSU) with 30W (Seasonic PSU in SPCR test rig)? So the open-frame PSU in the HDPlex is pretty good. But I'd still appreciate a comparis...

Re: HDPLEX H3.SODD Fanless Mini-ITX Media Case

The estimated idle state DC power for the tested Asus P8H67-I Deluxe with i5-2500K and 4 GB RAM was 20W. The H3 sample system pulled 25W AC at idle, which suggests ~80% efficiency. This load is very low, and likely below the power level at which maximum efficiency is reached by the power supply. Th...

Re: Any Intel 7-series mITX boards w/DC in?

Regarding Intel's DH61AG, I noticed that the latest BIOS (ver 0039, from April 10 2012) notes the following in the release notes: Intel wrote: BIOS version 0039 includes support for future 22nm processors. So, it seems it's already "ready" for Ivy Bridge. I should have looked for this before asking...

Re: Intel DH61AG Media Series Mini-ITX mobo

This UK vendor stocks a power adaptor for the DH61AG, and says:
Most UK sites only sell 19.5V Laptop AC adapters and a 19.5V adapter can damage the components.
Any truth in that? It would mean the Dell PA-3E 19.5V is not the best choice...

Re: Intel Core i3-2100T & Core i5-2400S Low Power CPUs

These Sandy Bridge processors have HD 2000 graphics, but there are CPU variants that have the better HD 3000 graphics: the i3 2105 and the i5 2405S.

Does HD 3000 consume more power than their HD 2000 equivalents, at idle and under load?

I wondered why the A5+ did not include SPDIF input as part of the upgrade? Is this because SPDIF would require expensive DACs on-board, and few people use SPDIF?
