Thanks! I think I'll go with the R6 - very helpful - probably wouldn't have found it without you!

What case would you recommend? Mid tower that holds 12 drives?

Hello, I currently have the the Cooler master CM690 II (mid tower) which comfortably holds about 8 3.5" drives and the cooler master Cosmos II which with a little modification comfortably holds about 16 3.5" drives. I'm looking for a case that isn't as tall as the CM Cosmos II but holds about 12 3.5...

Anything quieter than a strix for air cooling a 2080 ti?

Hello,

I've installed the artic in the past and it was reasonably quiet but I don't think it was better than a strix. Is there anything better that is air cooled? I do not want to do liquid cooling.

Thanks.

Replacement screw for a scythe Ninja 4?

Hello, I had a Ninja 4 sitting around unused for about a year as I never got around to building my next PC. I went to build it this week and for the life of me, I can't find the second screw to attach the mounting bar that holds the unit in place. I've written to Scythe USA but haven't heard back ye...

I'm wondering if I could get similar quiet and cooling performance if I put 2 fans on my ninja 4. I'd just like my system as quiet as possible.

Re: freeing up PCI express lanes disabling bios

pci e lane management reminds me of IRQ of yore. back in the day i had to figure out IRQ's i kinda forgot just vague memories of dip switches jumpers and autoexec.bat and config.sys files I remember that too. Seems pathetic (or as bones would say - BARBARIC) that in 2018 we still can't get a consum...

Re: Noctua 200mm on a cosmos II?

dremel tool (expanded version): if the 200mm fan is just a few mm's too big, rather than compressing/stressing the frame, use a dremel tool to shave/file/sand a mm or so off each side. impossible to get the issue is on the top and bottom in the front of the cosmos. I wouldn't compromise the frame o...

Re: Noctua 200mm on a cosmos II?

The frame is too large on it so you have to wedge it into the case and it will probably be at a slight angle since the frame makes it too large. Dremel tool :) I already used my hole saw to cut 120mm holes for 2 fans at the top of the 5.25" bays so I could cool the hard drives I'm putting there. I ...

Yes it is - it comes with one - just with a smaller frame than the Noctua one by just a couple of mm.

Re: Noctua 200mm on a cosmos II?

For anyone wondering - I ordered the 200mm noctua. It doesn't really fit in the case. The holes don't line up with anything for mounting so you could glue it in place. I would go with ninja4 agian, fine cooler for the price, and should be a great match for 7700k. Looking for a near silet 200mm fan with 140mm mounting holes

Hello,

I'm about to buy another Cosmos II case. In the front it has a http://www.cmstore-usa.com/200mm-led-fa ... packaging/ fan. I could use a noctua 140mm fan but I'd like to put in a quiet 200mm fan if possible.

Not overclocking, size is not an issue, just want silent i7

Hello, I'm probably building my next PC in July. I'll be using the Cosmos II Case again (16 hard drives). The case has plenty of space so the size of the CPU cooler is not an issue. I'd like it as quiet as possible. I've bought the Scythe Ninja 4 for my last few PCs. I'm wondering if I should buy it...

Is there a quietest 1080 ti yet?

Hello, I've bought the evga in the past and it was quiet. My last one I put my own cooler on and that was a lot of work since I ended up having to machine down the top radiator to fit between the CPU and the video card. I think I'd like a premade one again. Any recommendation? Gigabyte, EVGA.... or ...
