I just bought one of these from NewEgg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883103228&cm_re=nvidia_ion-_-83-103-228-_-Product I expect it to come in sometime next week, and then I will let you know how quiet/low-powered it is. I already have a Zotac ION-A, and that has worked great...

I would look into this case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119195 I have a 2.5" HDD (main) and 3.5" HDD (data) installed in it. I have an external USB DVD writer for the rare CD/DVD use. I have a 3.5" HDD removeable tray rack in an external 5.25" bay for additional backup ...

I went from CD, to DVD, to HDD backups years ago. It was becoming too cumbersome to back up 100+ GBs of various data onto dozens of single-layer DVDs. Now, I have an external USB 2.0 500 GB HDD that I plug in when I want to backup data. I've installed a 3.5" HDD removeable rack to an empty 5.25" bay...

I have a MSI Wind PC, and I love it. I have a 120gb 2.5" HDD, 1GB SO-DIM Ram, and Windows XP Home SP3 running on it. The MSI Wind PC sits directly in front of me, acting as a stand for my LCD. The fan and HD are audible, but does not bother me at all. It is a big change from my Antec Solo with the 1...

I use a Dell XPS M1210 laptop as my main computer. It's a 12" widescreen. I use it for my web surfing, Office, Photoshop, etc. The SOLO E6600 system I have posted in the Gallery is only used for gaming and data backup. Noise is the biggest factor for me, and I can't stand doing work on desktop syste...

What do you plan on using the 7300 for? I have a eVGA 7300 LE Turobcache version that I'm not impressed with. Basically, the only reason I got it was that it was $30 after a Mail-in-Rebate, which was to tide me over until I upgraded to a 7900xx series card. If you use it to play FPS games, you'll be...

What's wrong with it? Look at the cabling. It's all over the place. Look at the hard drives, there is no breathing space for the hard drives stuck in the middle. It's probably a good thing they're not suspended because transfering the heat to the metal cage is probably the only way some of these har...

They also provide a link to SPCR for people to further do their research. It seems to be the best power calculator I've come across so far - having all the recent processors and such, too.

What are you building the computer to be used for? FPS gaming? Multimedia? Office documents and spreadsheets? That makes a big difference on recommendations. Nightmorph, I don't notice the noise of my 2.5" above the quiet fans. My 3.5" is where I keep backup files, so it's not accessed much and is usually powered down. software fan control besides Speedfan?
Any other suggestions? Speedfan v4.30 (the latest version) does not work with my Intel 965 chipset motherboard (DG965SS). Intel's software doesn't have fan control built in, and there are no BIOS settings to adjust them.
Thanks.
Thanks.

What Choco said. SpeedFan v4.30 doesn't detect anything except my HDD SMART settings and temperature. But I have RMClock working now along with Intel Desktop Utilities, so it'll suffice for now. Thanks!

Any recommendations on FREE CPU and mobo temperature software? I have an Intel DG965SS mobo and E6600 CPU. I've used Intel's Intel Desktop Utilities and it does not provide temperatures. The Intel mobo bios, even the latest update, provides no temperature readings. I looked at Speedfan, but they hav...

Aopen i945GTm-VHL? Comes with HSF? Compatible with Merom?
I'm considering going with an Aopen i945GTm-VHL motherboard along with either a Yonah or Merom CPU. Is a Merom (mobile Core 2 Duo) compatible with the Aopen out of the package? Also, does a retail package Yonah/Merom come with a HSF? Does the Aopen motherboard come with a HSF? Will a Scythe Ninja fi...
