Thanks Dreamer. That was what I was looking for. I knew it would be close but it looks like there isn't a mm to spare. But like you say, once it is up and running you don't have to worry about it again. Thanks for the picture.

IP35 + TRUE + Solo - Will it fit?

Well, my delayed build is back on track and I'm considering an Abit IP35 for the fan control options with a TRUE in a Solo case. Is anybody running this config? I know this will work with the Gigabyte P35-DS* boards but haven't been able to find anybody running it with the Abit board and afraid of s...

What do you think? Which is better - IP35 Pro or one of the DS3 series boards? Good question, one I don't have an answer to. I had narrowed it down to those two boards myself and was leaning towards the Gigabyte. But, I have now decided to wait a bit on the new PC build so it became a moot point fo...

I was getting ready to put together a new machine but after seeing this release yesterday have decided to wait a few weeks. The 2 core Wolfdale's will be available in the second have of this month and since I was going to go with the 2 core Conroe anyway I might as well wait until these come out in ...

Thanks for the link porkchop. I'll check it out tonight at home. I hadn't considered the video card power consumption/heat dissipation much I guess because all the cards I've ever owned drew next to nothing and were all cooled with a heat sink at most. But, as with everything else it appears they a ...

Thanks porkchop. It looks like the MSI NX8600GT-T2D256EZ, 256 MB is the second cheapest (w/ $20 rebate) card Newegg carries that is fanless and has dual DVI. It is even cheaper than the ATI cards. I can't see to find power consumption specs anywhere to compare the two though I imagine neither would ...

Thanks Dutchmm. The MSI card looks like something that would work for me and has dual DVI (I forgot that in my post), is cheap and newegg carries them so I just add it to my cart :)

Cool, quiet card for non-gaming PC

Hi all, Well, it is time for me to put together another system after about 4 years with the current P4 setup. I have tentatively decided on most of the components but am a little overwhelmed in trying to pick a video card and was wondering if you could offer some suggestions. The system is a home de...

My SP1614N PATA is virtually silent. Easily the quietest drive I have ever owned. My Sonata is 2 feet away from me on my desk I never hear the drive. I does seem to vibrate more than other drives but fortunately for me that does not translate into any audible noise.

New DVD recorders coming

A few random notes. If anyone is in the market for a DVD recorder, you might want to hold off for a bit if you can. See this link. DVD Recorder Update I have Samsung DVD player. Very loud when it spins up. I would replace it but I only use it about .1% of time I'm at the PC so it is not worth it. My...

Happy with the M1A?

I have a Sonata which I put together last month. Overall, I am quite pleased with it and it is huge improvement over my previous box. The PSU fan could be a little quieter though. I was thinking of tiring the M1A fan mod before replacing the whole PSU. To those that done this mod. Are you happy with...
