Quiet 680 with nvidia blower fan. Are they all the same?

I'm looking for a relatively quiet 680 gtx video card with the default nvidia cooling (blower fan). I'm only interested by the noise they produce at idle. My question is, are they all the same, meaning it doesn't matter what brand i'll choose as long as it has the blower cooler designed by nvidia? T...

Looks promising. I think it would safely cool my i5 3570k cpu, despite its small size.

Re: How much will a 300w power supply run?

A normal ATX is too big for my project, i want to build the smallest gaming mini itx possible. But i'll think about it. :) I'll see if i could replace the 80mm x 15mm fan in the silverstone with a 92mm x 25mm fan. It will add 10mm to the height of the sfx, but i don't know if the other half of the f...

Will a 300w SFX PSU (Seasonic SS-300SFD) power my future mini pc? -Intel 2500k (probably Ivy Bridge, if not, the current Sandy Bridge rev) -> stock or with a little oc (not sure if i'll need it, prob not) -Z77 mini itx board (or any z68 or H67 mini itx board) -8 GB ram -1x SSD + 1x 2.5" hdd 5400 rpm...

Re: The PWM fan on the Shuriken 2 is loud! Replace it or...?

My new pc hasn't arrived yet, so i only have parts of it, mainly the psu, fan controller and this cpu cooler. I was wondering if the bearing noise could be generated only because the PWM on the fan doesn't like the non-PWM fan controller, if anyone has encountered this. And if someone has tried that...

The PWM fan on the Shuriken 2 is loud! Replace it or...?

Just purchased a new cooler, Scythe Big Shuriken 2, and the PWM fan that comes with it is not that quiet. The fan's specs are 500 (±200 rpm) - 2.000 rpm (±10%) - PWM-controlled (model nr: SY1212SL12H-P). Of course at maximum 2k RPM it's very loud, but my disappointment came when i tried to lower the...

What's the most silent 6950 card in idle?

What is the most silent AMD 6950 card available? Of course i'm looking for a custom cooler design, as the reference is too loud. I'm more interested in the idle noise, as the load noise doesn't bother me.

Re: Lan-Gear BETA mITX build

I've wrote a longer post yesterday but it got deleted somehow (when they made changes to the forum). It's a nice case, best combination of small size and efficient cooling for a gaming pc. Not so silent with all that fans and airholes, but this can't be avoided without increasing the size of the cas...

Without AAM, the seeks are really loud, you can hear them from across the room. But when you activate AAM (at max), you barely hear them over the idle noise, which is not that high anyway. But suspending is a must (like with almost all hdds).

I can't decide on a secondary hdd for my quiet desktop.

My primary desktop has a SSD for OS and programs so i just need only one internal 1 TB hard disk (2 platters) for storage (and mostly streaming music and video). I need it to have low vibrations, because i don't have room for suspension. I can't decide between these: - WD Blue EALS 7200RPM drive. I ...

A nvidia 260 gtx card that doesn't squeal?

I'm referring to the high pitch sound that a lot of 260 cards do (not because of the fan, but because of the coils on the card...). Is any card, from some manufacture, immune to this?

I need to choose between these two 1TB drives and i can't decide. The nr.1 concern is reliability, followed by noise. Hard Disks. Good for offline storage over the years?

With hdds going cheaper and bigger by the day, i found myself that it's not a good solution anymore to keep burning dvds with my data (not necessarily backup data) because they occupy more space then a single hdd (the height of a 3.5" hdd equals 14 dvds, or 63GB for single layer dvds, or ~120GB for ...

Imo, more important for me is magnetic protection and humidity control. And i don't know how to solve this...
