Little late to chime in here, but I'll also say I've ordered some "rare" parts from Comp-U-Plus a few times. Ordering was always easy, sometimes took longer than I come to expect to get shipping info and a confirmation, but I'm a Newegg freak so I'd just say my expectations are high. Other than a sl...

...And now I'm stuck with this noisy annoying 7200.10. Interitus 0 - Power Outlet 5 is your final score. Sorry about your difficulties. I'm sorta surprised that you find the 7200.10 noisy. I just installed one to replace a 7200.7 that failed (I think it was heat related issues in a Dell) and it is ...

Well looks like I can't pin the problem on Samsung. Not that I wanted to, but I really wish that it was just a bad batch of drives. Halcyon hit the problem. Turns out all of the outlets in the "office" of my apartment were fake grounded. Sorry I haven't posted back sooner, been hectic at work and tr...

My point is that you cannot make a judgement about HD reliability based on a single sample size -- it's ridiculous. Moreover you can't make a judgement about HD reliability based purely on records of failures , which unfortunately is what threads like this tend to become quite quickly. Definitely d...

It's funny that you guys mention the PSU because after I watched the 3rd spinpoint die I thought the same thing. My newegg order came in today, it also has a M12-600 in it :) I figured hey, I spent craptons of money replacing parts, why not a PSU upgrade lol. I did manage to get Samsung to RMA both ...

Lol, that's exactly what I was thinking too Snake. I'll trade you my Samsungs for your IBM's :P I guess the good news is that Samsung approved RMA for the 400GB drive already. Here's hoping Samsung didn't drop a pallet too lol. Bad news is they have yet to respond to the RMA request for the 200GB *s...

Well I can't afford to be out a PC for a month while Samsung handles my RMA this time. I ordered a 7200.10 for the time being, maybe if my Sammy comes back serviceable I'll sell off the 7200.10 or something. I just can't believe how many bad drives I've received in a row now. I'm already gritting my...

Recent Samsung drive failure rates?

Looking for good honest opinions on this. Not "I had a friend of a friend of a friend" type answers. I've been reading tons of horror stories about Samsung Spinpoints dying lately. I myself have had 3 die on me in the last month alone. First death was an SP2004C SATA 200GB. It died after about a yea...

If it helps you, I'm reusing my 3 year old Super Silencer 460 Rev. 2 with my new C2D setup. Powers everything just fine as I expected it would. This trusty SS460 w/ the M1A Panaflo mod just refuses to go away hehe. My rig: Seasonic Super Silencer 460 Rev. 2 Gigabyte 965P DS3 Rev. 3.3 C2D E6420 2x1GB...

Seasonic SS460 compatible with C2D rig?

I've been looking into building a new C2D rig. I'm going from a 939 Opteron 165 setup which the Super Silencer has powered just fine for probably a good year or more. Just not sure if the absence of 2 12v rails or lower amp rating on the single rail would cause problems here... Thoughts? Proposed sy...

My fault on the post. It was late and I didn't really clarify my end goal too well. So here it goes one more time... I will be using a fan in the top blowhole. Currently my setup has an Opteron 165 dual core running at 2.4ghz. That's a lotta heat. I imagined the top blowhole with a fan running at 5v...

Filtering material for the P180's top blowhole.

Didn't really find a good answer for this by searching.... I'm going to be using the fan in the top of my P180. The fan will help cool my setup a lot more than avoiding use of it, so it stays. My only problem with this is that I do not want the top blowhole grille to be exposed for dust to just fall...

The panels were almost suitable to be used as dinner salad bowls. They were THAT BAD. The door wasn't bowed, r...

I have an A8N-SLI Deluxe. Should be the same pretty much. One thing you will find is that when using longer graphics cards like the 7800GTX and 6800Ultra that you will be very hard pressed to fit the card in there with the Zalman NB47J and an aftermarket cooler. There were some pics on this when the...

I'd probably prefer quiet at idle as opposed to seek noises. I think I'd have to rule out the Diamondmax 10 because I believe there are compatibility issues with my board. Reasonably quiet SATA II drive w/ NCQ?

Was going to finally take the leap to SATA and NCQ. I have heard a lot of mixed results about the new Samsung drives so I'm not quite sure what I should replace my old Spinpoint 160GB with. I'd like something about on the same noise level as the Spinpoint if possible. Don't need a very large amount ...

Seasonic's warranty is for 3 years. The PSU is only ~4-5 months old, so I have at least 2 1/2 years left on the warranty.

Well everyone said the fan in this thing gets clicky. Oh my lord... Clicky is about the 9th word I'd describe this fan with right now. Read your post and got p$#)*#@ off all over again.

UPS is probably the crappiest, no-good shipper ever.

In the last 2 years they have destroyed no less than FIVE computer cases shipped to me. My advice is to never use UPS again unless it's unavoidable. Those people have serious issues.
