There were no mounting problems at all. The folks at Scythe have created a very effective mounting mechanism that works fine without modification with this motherboard. Since part of the Ninja mounting scheme requires placement of pieces on the underside of the motherboard, the Ninja absolutely must...

There's nothing radical or particularly innovative in this build, but I thought that it might be useful to increase the data base a bit with another example of a system type that is gaining in popularity. The Gear: Antec P180 Case (2 Antec 120 fans on Low) Gigabyte D965P-DS3 motherboard Intel Core2D...

Thanks, Phil. I attached the rails, attached the cables, slid the device in from the front, but NO SNAP. So, the device is in there, and will probably not be coming out, but I would be happier if it were better secured in the bay. It moves around if you tug on it. Just wondering if there is somethin...

P180 Floppy Drive Installation Problems

Has anyone put a floppy drive in the external 3.5" drive bay?

I have stalled out on this step. It...just...won't...work.

If anyone could provide detailed steps, I would be grateful.

Thanks in advance.

I have activated Winamm. This helps a little, but the seek noise is still pretty prominent. Again, putting the drive in the case may help. It is currently suspended in a frame about 2 feet away from me. The room is pretty noisy, though, since I am using a 16-inch room fan to cool the workbench. (Act...

SE16 WD5000KS

I am building a new system. It is still on the workbench, but I must say that I am disappointed by the Western Digital SE16 WD5000KS. I am using an old Seagate 40 GB drive in the system as well, and the Seagate is much, much quieter. The seeks on the Western Digital SE16 WD5000KS sound like a Geiger...

Mike, you and the other folks who keep SPCR humming (very quietly, with a frequency profile that is refreshing) deserve a big round of applause.

You have brought order out of chaos.

Mac Mini - This is great

I acquired a Mac Mini for a programming project and it arrived today. This machine is pretty remarkable. Unpacking and setup took less than 10 minutes and were essentially effortless. ARM Sytems case -- any user experiences?

I am considering buying an ARM Systems case, pre-foamed, without a power supply. This case has ventilation holes in the top, a ventilation duct from the side wall, and two 120 mm fans. Has anyone had experience with this case? Sorry if there are threads on this that I have missed. I searched and cam...

Pre-foamed, silent case - where to buy

I would prefer not to install AcoustiPak myself. Someone who does that work on a routine basis would probably produce a much better result.

Any advice on where to buy a solid, pre-foamed case without a power supply?

Thanks in advance.

Dell Dimension 2400 and Motherboard Monitor

My relatives recently bought a Dell Dimension 2400 as a second computer. It was not running as well as expected. I had a look at it and found that it seemed to be memory deficient, with free physical memory usually at 20% - 30% of the total of 256 MB. I looked at processes, and could not sort out a ...

TRENDnet TK-400 KVM - Get rid of the buzzer?

This is a long, long shot. I needed to replace my 2-port KVM with a 4-port model because I am recalling to active duty an ancient Dell that has all my Web site stuff on it. I purchased a TRENDnet Tk-400 KVM switch. It is a bit quirky, but does reasonably well except for one awful thing: Every time I...

SilentTek is a utility that should be available on the CD-ROM that accompanied your AOpen motherboard. Just install this utility and you should be set.
