I've been importing and reselling this stuff in South Africa, so I can give some impressions: 1. Results seem to vary. I've seen with my own eyes an 8 degree (yes, 8 degree) difference between this and (an admittedly not perfect) application of AS5 on a Penium D 805 oc'd running under a Koolance blo...

Standard 7800 GTX cooler is alu, not copper. EVGA ACS cooler uses a copper heatsink (with the same design as the standard cooler) and has the extra plate, so performance should be slightly better. 7800 gtx produces less heat than a 6800 ultra, so it will run fine with the VGA Silencer, assuming it f...

Well, I'm pretty much doing this at the moment. I own a small computer company, and while 95% of our clients are not too concerned with noise levels (we build machines that are relatively quiet compared with the average, but by no means silent as power + cost are more important than low noise levels...

Installed an Aquian over the weekend for a client - the stock fan on the Aquian is not quiet. Having said that, the system does seem to have a bit of overhead - running two 3.06ghz Xeon's on it and the temps where in the low 30's, and the pump noise is very, very minimal. So you can most likely inst...

Dude - I can really recommend changing the VGA cooling to a Zalman VF700. In theory it voids your warranty, but the truth is it's very easy to do, and as long as you replace the original cooler you won't have any problems if the card dies (obviously, if you kill the card, then it's your problem, but...

Thermalright V1 - "XP 90 for your gfx card"
Looks very impressive, and it got some good results. May be an ideal hybrid cooler - put a quiet Nexus on the one mounting and Tornado on the other - when you need silence you just run the Nexus, when you want to OC you run both at full tilt :D http://systemcooling.com/thermalright_v1-01.html Artag

Give me a break. Dude, chill out. If you want to come in here and start causing, at least do some research. All nVidia 6x00 series GPU's and all ATI Xx00 GPU's support dual display. Now, not all PCB's have it implemented, but as was wisely stated earlier, any display with dual connectors (ie one DV...

Bah... i'm getting a 6600GT AGP which has the bridge chip... guess there aren't any quiet cooling solutions that will fit.... Another vote for Mistumi - they are very quiet on read and seek, and relatively quiet on write. I install them in all my cilents machines, and have thus far found that they all produce a similar level of noise - unlike the Panasonic drives, where you often (maybe one in five) get a real 'dud' that p...

The Papsts's in SA cost about $15 each, which is not too bad. Unfortunately, the Nexus and Globe fans are not available locally, so I need to go to the hassle of importing them. Copying this from a gaming forum where I posted it, so it's not really "silenced orientated" in what I talk about, but anyway :D The system is not as quite as I would like yet, but I'm getting their. Well, I've got an X800 Pro in my rig, and it doesn't underclock well at all - stock is 475 mhz, and my particular card crashes at anything under 433mhz.
