I asked for RMA, I'm waiting for instructions.
Just hope to get a working mobo soon.

Houston, we have a problem! Got this mobo yesterday, and I'm trying to start it up... but no success. I've got 1GB DDR2 533mhz CL4, a 90W PicoPSU and a 84W AC adapter. Everything comes from the same store. The mobo itself seems to start, as heatsinks get hot, leds blink on the NIC and on the keyboar...

Quiet large IDE drive for external USB box?
Hi all
I want to replace the noisy 160gb ide hd that I'm using in a Lacie USB box, and I'd like to keep the box itself. I'm looking for 500gb or more.
Can you suggest me some really quiet drive?
I've seen the WD5000AAKB, is it good?
Thankyou!

You say the idle at 23-25° and you think they are too hot??? The way to quiet them completely is to enclose them in sound blocking material, and then suspend the whole thing with elastic cord. Then run a very slow quiet 120mm fan in front of them; you probably won't hear this. What kind of sound d...

Enclosure for 2.5" drives?
Hi all I have two 5200.4 80gb Momentus 2.5" Sata drives currently sitting on foam near the lowest pci slots in my 3700bqe case. They idle at about 23-25° and I'm satisfied but I want more... as I can still hear those babies. What can I do? I've tried to pack 'em up in foam and put them between two ...

BeQuiet BQT E5-450W + fan swap... good idea?
Looking for a silent PSU with modular cables, I don't need a nuclear reactor since I'm currently using a tagan 380w and I'm livin' happy... except for the lack of modular cables. Could this be a good (and cheap) solution? I have a couple of nexus 120mm fans and coolermaster white led fans (which are...

Yeah, that will probably work fine. However, I encourage you to consider suspending it by the output hose. I don't have my pump with me now, but I seem to recall that if the pump wasn't touching ANYTHING it became effectively silent. Play around with it yourself. Listen to what it sounds like when ...

Thanks for your reply, wussboy! :) The wrist rest is a great idea, I'll try it as soon as I find those rests. I was also thinking about placing the pump on this HD suspension device: http://www.pyramid.de/img/fotos/epac_silent_hd.jpg or something similar, do you think it can help? Thanks, ciao! Fran...

Suspending an L20 pump
Hi all I'm setting up a WC system with cpu wb, vga wb and a single-fan radiator with included reservoir. My pump is an L20, I'm sure you know this one. It seems quite to me, but it vibrates too much for my tastes. I was considering suspension to solve the problem, do you think it will work? I have a...

I'm in the same situation... a lian-li pc60 case with some pax-mate I'd like to remove. The guys from Akasa told me to use an hair-dryer with plastic knife, and now I know it works. Someone else suggested Dilution (sorry, I don't know the english word, in italian is Diluente Nitro)... and my girlfri...

What about Samsung HM040II 40GB 2.5" SATA drives?
I've found them on ebay, look interesting... what do you guys think about them? I've found nothing on the Samsung website. I'm planning to use two of them in Raid0 under WinVista (when raid drivers will be available...) suspending them in the HD cage of my 3700bqe with no intake fan. Now I have two ...

Hi all Very interesting article and discussion here. I'm thinking about using this cooler for my x1900gt videocard, with a nearby 120mm nexus fan @ 5v (@12v during gameplay) blowing at it. Would this be ok? If not, what could I try? My VF900 @ 5v is too noisy for me... According to xbitlabs, my vide...

Further silencing... ducting?
Hi all I have an Antec 3700BQE case with a Zalman 7000alcu on my 3500+ cpu, a Zalman vf900 on the x1900gt videocard, the stock Antec fan on the intake and a Coolermaster 120mm fan blowing out. My psu is a Tagan 380w with 2 80mm aerocool fans (33cfm @ 2500rpm @ 21.6 dba according to aerocool) . Every...

ducted Ninja on antec 3700bqe
hi all I have an Antec 3700BQE case, and I'm using a Zalman 7000al-cu on my 3500+ cpu. I'm satisfied with the results: the Zalman is regulated by a Zalman rheobus and I keep it at the minimum available voltage. I also have a Coolermaster 120mm fan on the intake and a Nexus on the back, both via Zalm...

If it's the AMB you're using, the drive cage is removable. I just got some bungee cord and wire clamps (total cost for the mod $2.50). I used regular drive screws to mount the cords to the other 3.5 bays and that's it. Could you please post a picture? I don't understand your mod very well :( btw: y...

Just for the other side, I have a 3700 and with suspending the hard drives and soft-mounting the fans, I haven't noticed the need for dampening material. The loudest thing in my pc is the VGA silencer and any mild noise (read typing or street noise) is enough to cover it up. I've vented my PSU to t...

nre case... slk3700 amb will be ok?
hi everyone i'm thinking about buying a new case, since i got bored with my never-ending-modding on my lianli pc60. i like the antec slk3700 amb very much, and i will surely change the psu with my tagan 380w and both fans with two ystech FD 1212251B-2F (21db @ 12v) maybe downvolted @ 7v. the rest of...
