Hey Mike, I just quickly browsed through the thread, so I'm not sure if it has been mentioned before, but maybe isolating a platform on which you can do your measurements with bungee cords might help. That's what a lot of research labs do to eliminate vibrations for atomic force microscope measureme...

Those having this motherboard should check out the F3 Bios. Gigabyte added a 2.66 multiplier for 800 fsb processors.
It's a great addition for my E2140. I can run a lot higher clocks now.
I know we're at SilentPCR but if you can combine it with a little bit of overclocking it's even nicer.

You are in a forum about silent pc. ;) So it would be nice if you also report idle or/and full load power consumption I know, I wanted to include that too but I was to lazy to crawl under my desk and look at the power meter =) You get the power consumption in a few minutes. Bought a E2140 too. It runs with 3200 Mhz (8*400 Mhz) at 1,34V Vcore. I didn't have the time to do more testing. But I'm gonna try to fill out the information you are interested in smillingcrow. This E2140 is crazy, 100 % overclocking for 60€. But the 1 MB Cache is really a drawback for folding@ho...

So I just upgraded one of my computers. Hopefully my folding output will increase a little bit, but my fathers QX6700 isn't folding at the moment so my PPD took a big hit. I bought a new E2140 for 60€ and it's a crazy CPU. On stock settings it runs with 1,6 Ghz and 1,325V Vcore but with a slight V...

I have a question: how are you figuring the Points per Watt? Shouldn't it be points per day per watt, or something? If you do not have a period of time, then you can't know how many points it earns... :o
Yeah you're right, it should be points per day per watt (PPDW).

What are your points per [day per] watt (PP[DP]W)?

Coming from the other thread, I think it would be great if everyone could post his ppdw. Edit: I should have been a bit more accurate. I posted my points per day per watt, not the points per watt. Excellent, I would love to know everyone's ppw. That would be great green race. I just checked my foldi...

I hate those 1500 point WUs (2610), they take longer than the 1700 pointers. The 2652 WU is even worse. It is slow as hell. I only get around 1860 PPD with the QX6700. I'm so tempted to buy a new cpu. I still have a P5B-VM Mainboard laying around which could replace my old Athlon XP setup. Well I w...

Both of your choices look nice but I need a DVI Output.

What do you think about the ASUS M2A-VM HDMI. It's even cheaper than the Biostar and has a lot more features. Are there any drawbacks?

doesn't the P5B-vm come with integrated video?? maybe ditch the 7300Gs and just try the integrated video, or if you keep the card, see if you can disable the onboard video so it's not using power Well the P5B-VM has onboard video but only a vga output.
