Forgot to take piccies while I was setting it up, so will take some piccies this week sometime and post in the General Galley. Thanks for t...

Antec P150

Hi everyone, I've been a member here for ages and been reading these forums for a long time, but haven't started silencing my PC yet. - well... I'm about to. The first thing I'm going to do is get a P150 case, just concerned at exactly how silent is silent when it comes to the PSU? I was going to bu...

Re: Let's get them folding again!

Greetings fellow SPCR Folders, I have sent PM to a few of you who were folding at one point in time -- but are no longer active. Some have heeded the call; and here's a list of all those who should start folding again right away!! On one machine or ten -- we need your contributions! In the order of...

I’ve got the Gigabyte GA-K8NSNXP (s754 version) with an Athlon 64 3200+ and Cool’n’quiet works perfectly if you wanted to add it to your recommended Cool’n’Quiet motherboards list. There is a BIOS switch for it in the F1 BIOS (or at least the F1 BIOS on Gigabyte’s website is the one that says it add...

-The front ventilation looks quite poor. Opening up the vents may be needed. -The PSU has a small, undoubtedly noisy 40mm fan with a crappy grill in front of it. -The CPU cooling fan is another 60mm job, it's probably loud too. -That little fan on the external CPU heatsink tunnel is yet another sou...

Quietening the DigiDice

Hey guys, One of my mates has a DigiDice and he's getting annoyed with how load the fans are. We were thinking of taking out the rear 60mm fan it currently has, cutting out the grill on the back and putting an external 80mm fan onto it to suck the air out of the case. Anyone done anything similar to...

I'm quite lucky. Last week I bought an Athlon 64 3200+, Gigabyte K8NSNXP and 2GB RAM. The 2GB is REALLY nice when gaming! But I would CERTAINLY recommend 1GB over 512MB. You'll find 1GB of standard PC3200 RAM is easily better than 512MB Performance RAM. Especially with the A64's as the on-die memory...

Let me find another PC or two, and then I'll race! :D

Server issues

hey everyone,
Is anyone else having issues uploading to servers:
171.64.122.119 and
171.67.89.151 ??

On the Folding@Home server status page their DL status box is in yellow.

Any ideas? I've got 2 WU's waiting to be uploaded!

I'm thinking of modding the PSU with 2 Arctic Cooling TC fans. I'm not too concerned about the reduction in exhaust fans, I've got the BQE case with a 120mm fan at the back. I've noticed that not much air at all comes out of it, because I've got more exhaust than intake, as soon as I take the side o...

I didn't use the Zalman heatsink, just the stock Leadtek Ti4400 one, which is the wrap-around heatsink anyway. The stock heatsink does actually contact with the ram too. The stock heatsink still gets VERY hot to the touch, but since I've done that and bought the Antec SLK3700BQE with 120mm fans, I f...

Hey everyone, Well I used to get artefacts when playing any games at all, so last night I took the plunge and pulled my heatsink off my graphics card. Thermaltake 480W Butterfly

Hey everyone,

I'm new to this whole silent PC thing, and bought a Thermaltake 480W Butterfly PSU.

Now I do find this PSU fairly quiet, the only noise I can hear from it is the air flow through the vents at the back of the PSU. Is there anything I can do to try and stop this noise?
