Re: Our Lapped CPU Heatsink Test Platform

If the concavity of the heatspreader can have such a huge effect on a soldered IHS like your 965, on one that is merely secured by TIM & silicone glue, like the more recent 1155 and 1150 CPUs, I feel it would be even more susceptible to deformation. I think there are other issues with 1155 that com...

#0,
What heatsink do you have on your e8200? And is the way you placed the PSU the standard way to do it, and if not: could it have fitted in the top of the case?
cheers, and nice rig.

Standard Size ATX PSU is what size?

Hi, I am looking for information about what a standard size PSU is according to ATX standards. I have found this thread which lists an amount of SFF cases and in it you can see how some are not able to fit a "standard size PSU", so I would like help from you guys. Ie I have a OCZ 520WADJ PSU, and I ...

Devonavar, its not that I don't believe you, but I've talked to a friend of mine who is an electrical engineer. He says the voltage inside of a CRT can be very high, but the Amps are low (in the milis) and therefore are harmless, totally harmless. Of course, he says, one has to remove the power cord...

HP CRT P1230 is buzzing - share your advice please

To my disgust the newly purchased beasty 22" proffessional monitor makes a coil buzz. HP p1230 22" CRT Diamondtron NF tube, 3 year on-site next day service. I contacted HP support by telephone about my issue. They suggested that I try a different wall socket for the power cable. This does not help. ...

HP CRT P1230

My HP P1230 22" model P9613W CRT Monitor has a buzz! I JUST bought it, and I couldn't believe my own ears when I first heard the nasty buzz sound. I had replaced my old 19" CRT monitor with this beast, and when I heard the buzz I was sure that my monitor was faulty. So I called HP and they said "Wel...

ok marcoland so I should leave CPU-Z vcore=0 right? Anyhow, is your setup using: 1) PowerNow (pre-windows speed = 4x200) 2) CnQ (pre-windows speed = 9x200) - because I can get get both to work, its a bug in the DFI I think. If i manually (By BIOS) set multiplier to 4x, and reboot and go back to BIOS...

I know there is a retail heatsink made for cooling GF 6800 FANLESS.
The problem is that I cant remember its name or where ive seen it..

My plan is to buy it, undervolt my 6800GT by 0.1 v and try this cooler.

marcoland im afraid it isnt changing the voltage after all. It is true that if you change CPU-Z.ini to have VCore=4, it will show a vcore in CPU-Z that decreases and increases proportional to multipliers. But if you look at the tool "ITE Smartguardian" which came with the DFI motherboard, and can al...

I was wondering why it didnt become unstable before now, and perhaps this could be owed to the ambient temp? Temperature in your room increased since x-mas break? ;-) Anyways, underclocked @ 1,15 the Winchester idles @ approximately 4Watt. The Zalman will transfer enough heat from the CPU Core to ma...

Cooler for NAKED s754 CPU needed

Hi Fellas,

I only know of the ThermalRight 948U heatsink which can cool a mobile / DTR / naked s754 CPU, but surely new has been made no?

If you know of any, please dont hesitate to post in this thread! :)

Here's an idea: there are plenty of cases available that have a top blowhole. Take the fan out, leave the grill. used some thin cardboard or plastic to make a duct from the back of the psu to the "vent" (top blowhole) on the top of your machine. Nice idea! You can actually put the otherwise useless...

How to get RPM reads when there is no 3-pin-thingy :o

Hi SPCR, Im new to this forum so bare with me for asking silly question :D I have a 80mm Sunon fan attached to my CPU-cooler, and I cant read the fan's RPM, because there is only a power-cable connected to the fan. I also purchased a 120mm Papst 4412 FGL, also with only a powercable connected to it....
