FS: Thermalright SP-94 with all original parts / packaging

I'm selling a Thermalright SP-94 with all its original mounting hardware / clips / packaging / instructions, etc. I'll try to get pics up later, if anybody needs them. I have some fans available for an additional (but low) fee, if desired. (I'd have to go digging.) In particular, I used this HS with...

Most definitely. We'd need a warrant to even get started, and some real, illegal activity for that. (And while the activity is definitely unethical, it isn't illegal.) I think we're pretty much stuck at tracking down the author to AOL, based in Virginia, which isn't particularly helpful. :( But I'll...

Now if we were cops, we could call AOL up and find out who was at that particular domain at the time.
Indeed. Alas, we don't have anything more than a suspicion. I don't see much more progress to be made here. :( Thanks. -- Paul

They will fit BUT make sure they use the clip system to mount and not the bolt through the motherboard method. Use your best judgement on clearance vs size of the heatsink. IIRC S370 mobos don't have mounting holes. I'd personally recommend heatsinks supporting 80mm fans but arn't too large or heav...

I used to have a Thermalright SK7 on a highly-overclocked PIII 1266-S, along with an 80mm Panaflo Low. It worked out very nicely. (So yes, Socket A coolers can work very, very nicely.) All the best. -- Paul

Thanks for the help, all. Alas, the IP address (and the account) is AOL. I'm having a hard time tracking it down to, say, AOL Cerritos, CA. If anybody knows how to find that type information, that would absolutely rock. I scanned through google a bit this evening, but I didn't have much luck. I've a...

I'm investigating this article a bit right now ...

The thing that irked me in the article was this: In fact, before SilenX released their Luxurae HDSS, the only real way to make hard drives quieter was to buy a new, quieter model. I posted this in the ocforums and also e-mailed it to the author: Fortunately, this isn't true. The "Smart Drive" he men...

As for the PSU duct, first off, fantastic work, dasman. Mine will need to be a bit more complex, as the PSU has a bottom fan, but I have an idea up my sleeve that I'll post later if it pans out... :) Thanks  If your budget allows, ditch the PSU -- you won't be sorry... Dave PS You might be be...

Thanks again for the tips, everyone! I'm thinking very strongly of a 120mm Panaflo L bottom / floor intake running at low voltage. If necessary, I'll try a 92mm side duct to the CPU, and after that and if necessary, I'll finish drilling the holes in the side and throw on a quiet 92mm panaflo at low ...

Any fanspeed control that leaves the ground lead fixed (i.e., varies fan speed by varying the voltage of the positive lead) should maintain the RPM readings, down to a certain voltage. I designed a fanbus like this a few years ago ... Here's a screeny of RPM readings taken at different voltages with...

Thanks for the tips. :) (And interesting computations, btw.) That's the route I'll likely be going, or similar to it. (In fact, it's similar to my current setup.) I have a homemade fanbus for the case fans, does 7V-12V. As for the HSF, I use the built-in hardware PWM of my Abit AI7 to control the fa...

Thanks for the tips. I'll have to give those Papst's a look ... I like the ideas about negative pressure allowing the air to be drawn in. I am thinking pretty serious about the bottom intake idea with filters. Since I've always stood my PC on a wooden platform, rather than carpet, there's good poten...

Hello, and thanks for the tips! Actually, I have the system running in a current cheapo case from years ago at the moment. In this setup, I have two 80mm Panaflo L's: one as a side intake, and the other as an exhaust. When running full load, it seems I need to run them at full speed to get good temp...

General Airflow Diagram

Here's a rough sketch of the airflow layout: http://math.uci.edu/~pmacklin/images/SPCRforum/GeneralAirflowDiagram.GIF Here are a few notes: 1) Black square outlines are places where fans can be readily inserted. I've tried to note the sizes wherever possible. a) The two rear 80mm fan exhaust mount p...

Quiet 92mm case fans: Zalman or Panaflo

Hello, all! I'm considering using 1-3 92mm fans to cool a new case (Gmono with window). I'll most likely be modding it to include a 92mm case intake above the CPU / AGP area, as well as a 92mm top blowhole / exhaust. The main heat generators in the system are a PIV 3.0C overclocked to 3.5 GHz with a...
