I just changed my old ATI 4670 with Accelero S1 for this GainWard GTX 460, the 1GB version. And I am very happy about it. I was expecting to have to change the cooler, but it won't be the case since it's very quiet. I also took a look at the Watts, and the wattage I use to measure the whole computer...

I would be interested in this aswell. According to that review it's a better product than the Xigmatek S1283 ( which gives similar temps at 10dBA benefit when using included fans) and Xigmatek S1284. Akasa AK967 : The aluminum fins measure 0.3mm thick and are spaced 2.0mm apart. Xigmatech S1283 : Th...

Even at 5V, the VF1000 walks all over its predecessor at 12V by a staggering 18°C. I think that this sentence is not properly constructed. Not that my english is perfect, but mixing 5V and 12V in the same sentence with the single "18º". It may need to add a comma or rephrase it. Of course I could...

Re: eSATA idea

I've got no experience with SATA so forgive me if I'm missing something, but wouldn't this do away with the need for an external PSU for the HD and the associated problem of not being able to put it into Suspend mode? Could I then use a Sycthe Quiet Drive outside my PC to silence the HD, or would t...

I increased the size in windows and firefox. In winxp I used the "accwiz.exe" accessibility wizard, and on firefox the extension "nosquint". Without those two things I using this monitor would be a pita because like that user said, the text is too small. My eyes are between 50-60cm from the screen....

hmmm... 50-60cm seems a bit closer than I'd ideally like, especially with a screen that size. Is the monitor's position determined by the space available, or is that the distance you prefer? If it was a bit further away, would wearing your lenses help, and would you be able to see clearly without s...

Re: Users of 30" 2560x1600 monitors - some advice pleas

Most people reporting on other forums seem very pleased with their purchases, but at least one guy with bad eyesight said he found his Dell 3007WFP-HC "unusable" due to the small text size. So a few questions for anyone who has a 30" 2560x1600 monitor: How far away do you sit from it? How would you...

cpu temp doesn't change with or without heatsink fan?

the mobo is a Gigabyte K8NF9, the cpu: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200, the heatsink a Scythe Ninja, the fan the orange Nexus. The thing I don't understand is that the mobo has three temp sensors, and the program sensorsview says the cpu is at 71ºC, speedfan also shows that sensor, but since it doesn't say w...

Tacens fans any good?

I found a new fan called Tacens Aura which is quite cheap (the 120mm is 6.50€) and I can't find reviews or opinions about it anywhere. Has anyone tried them? (or has enough experience with fans that can give an opinion without having them on hands)
