Re: FS: MiniITX Motherboard Tray

Re: the drive cage, this is where a picture is worth a 1,000 words. Unfortunately, I have a clear image in my head, and no time to transcribe that to paper (or digital media) ;)

mushbert is right, depending on the angle of the cable, you should be able to use one.

Re: FS: MiniITX Motherboard Tray

I'm sorry -- I didn't realize that there were replies here until another user found my auction on eBay for these parts and alerted me. I thought this thread had died! I still have two of these left. Depending on how quickly they sell, I may have another lot of them machined, but I still can't decide...

FS: MiniITX Motherboard Tray

I had some MiniITX motherboard trays machined for a scratch build I was doing for myself. Unfortunately (or fortunately, who knows) I had to order a minimum of five to get the costs down. I know some people are/were in the same predicament I was in: you need to mount the motherboard, but figuring ou...

Nice. For someone looking for the same thing... but for ATX and Micro ATX boards, PerformancePCs.com sells Lian Li motherboard trays. http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=130_210_750_753 That was the odd thing to me: Lian Li & others make motherboard trays for Micr...

The "pasta" heatsink compound I use is included wih the Aopen heatsink. The heatsink is the new "bigger" one :!: mmmmm, pasta. Anyway, i tried to put my thumbs on the heatsink while reading the temps in the bios.. and it suddently dropped down to 65 degrees. As soon as I let go, the temp gets back ...

A quick question: Has anyone been able to successfully run all the way through 3DMark05 using this mb in a system with the PCIe x16 slot filled? Does anyone use it regularly for games? It's less of a silly question than you think: I've yet to get by the first scene in this test with this board, a 76...

i may be wrong, but the mobo and the hard drives are on seperate rails, with seperate current limits. When I look at the other voltages I see a pattern similar to Vcore's. It does look like more or less random noise in the sensor or the system. In my system it's the same pattern of spikes and droops in all the readings, no matter which rail. I did a search for droop mod for this mb, but no luck. Loo...

Alright, well that's a relief. I'm not too familiar with this area. I am having stability issues, the same ones as found here. I sent the motherboard back to AOpen (took a month & 1/2 and was NOT a good experience - I'll spare you the details) and they supposedly fixed it. I got it back, put the mac...

Should a core voltage profile look like this?

Below is a chart showing Vcore vs. time for my Pentium M machine (760 2.0GHz, 533MHz FSB, i915GMm-HFS, 6600GT PCIe 16 video card, DDR2 RAM, and a Phantom 350 PSU.) I have the voltage set to 1.21(something) in the BIOS. At the far right side of the chart is the point where I changed my SETI client to...

Two questions:

1) How is Shuttle for reliability, esp. with hardware that's new to them?
2) Is it possible to fit a second 3.5" drive in that 3.5" external drive bay without exposing it to the outside? I'd like to put a second hard drive there, of course.

Thanks!

Out of curiousity, would it be possible to mod the K8 base to fit AOpen's i915, MicroATX board for Pentium Ms? The holes are 56mm apart on the diagonal, I think. What has been your experience so far in trying to get it quiet? Obviously the phantom probably helps, but you mentioned the actively cooled video card. I bought one of these (green!) and my experience is mixed, at best. First of all, I agree with the comments re: the case fan that comes with it: it's too bright and it's loud (soon to be replaced by a Nexus). Re: Still seems hot

61 degrees still seems really hot for the cpu under load. Not sure they made that much of an improvement. I'd rather see them redesign the mounting bracket to use after market copper heat sinks. This board was really intriguing, but a pentium-m chip & board is too expensive to run hotter than an at...

This sounds like it could be a heat problem. The easiest way to test is to simply get a large desk or room fan, take the side off of your computer, point the fan in and run it and see what happens. ... What could be wrong here?

[Specs for the machine in question are posted at the end of this message.] It's a darn odd problem: every so often the machine will suddenly 'freeze' with no warning, usually under load, sometimes not. If sound was playing the last 'frame' of the sound will keep on playing. The display usually doesn...

Also, all 250W PSUs I know of go back to ATX12V PSU spec V1.1 or earlier -- they have low 12V current capacity and much higher 5V & 3.3V. You're probably overloading your 12V line while the other lines sit idle. I'd suggest trying an efficient recent version SFX PSU rated at 250W or higher (Seasoni...

Overall, I'd think that this board is really good, and my assessment is that we here should not be overly put-off by the HSF.
