Anybody do any mods to make a PS4 quieter?

Hello all Has anybody done any work on the PS4 to make it quieter? My PS4 is generally quiet but the fan ramps up on high load games. The fan noise doesn't have a bad characteristic to it, but it's still louder than I'd like. I heard that poorly applied/poor quality thermal paste is a common issue f...

Re: Looking for a Quiet 3TB 7200 drive

Thread hijack... but what is the difference between the

Seagate ST3000DM001 and the Seagate STBD3000100 ?

A quick Newegg search reveals the Toshiba DT01ACA300 and the Toshiba PH3300U-1I72 as other 3TB/7200rpm hard drives. Could anybody recommend one?

I use the CS4 suite every day, lots of Pshop (large 1 gig PShop files are common). I use the stock card that came with my Mac Pro Dual Quad Core Xeon, which is a lowly ATI Radeon HD 2600 256MB, no issues. The only real time that 3D performance is needed is for screen redraw, and this new "feature" ...

If I wanted to replace the 4770's heatsink with a trimmed S1, what 4770 should I buy? As I understand it, the PCB's vary from reference, so how would I know which one I should get? Thanks in advance.

edh,
When you say it's better to use in S1, are you talking about passive cooling? I have an S2 and would like to get this card (and am willing to trim the S2). With a 120mm fan blowing (slowly and quietly, of course) on the S2, would that be sufficient cooling for the 4770?

So after I figured that I could use either PCI-E slot and I'd just be limited to 8x on the one where I have space for a 2-slot card, I decided to get the HIS 4670 Turbo. I slapped an S2 on it. I have a 7V Panaflo 80mm blowing nearby and idle temps are at 30 C, load temps 43 C.

Thanks easyrider, but I saw from newegg reviews that some people had issues with dual monitor support on the Powercolor. thermalright xp-90 on AM2+ mobo

I have an XP-90 lying around. It seems like a perfectly capable heatsink. Enough for a Phenom II (no OC) with a Panaflo 80L on top, yes? The AM2+ mobo has 4 screws to connect the retention plate right (while a S754/939/940 has 2 screws)? So, to fit the XP-90 on an AM2+ mobo, I'd have to get somethin...

touch of death killing my pc(s) need help on new build

Hi, Here's the story of my old computer (A64 3200 S754 AGP DDR1): it worked great for 3-4 years without ONE crash. Then one day, it died. I didn't do anything special. I'm looking for a socket 754 processor, preferably faster than a Newcastle A64 3200+. (I happened to come upon an S754 mobo and I need a proc to pair it with for a low budget build)

Thanks. I reside in the states (CA).

Old BarracudaIV seeks louder than before, cause for concern?

I have an old Seagate Barracuda IV (I actually use it in my xbox), but yesterday I noticed that its seeks are louder than they used to be. It doesn't sound unusual for a hard drive, but I don't think it's normal for a Seagate Barracuda IV. Should I be worried that it's going to die soon?
