Can I get a motherboard recommendation?

Hi, My needs are simple enough, I need: Matx or mini-itx 2x SATA 6 ports Undervolting Low idle power draw. It's a shame that most of the low end MSI & Gigabyte boards don't support undervolting anymore & ASUS's Idle power draw is quit a bit higher (from what I have seen) Any recommendations? Thanks!

Re: Mac Mini (choosing and customizing)

I have both a 2011 base model Mac Mini (2.3ghz 8gb RAM & 120GB SSD) And a 2009 2.0ghz C2D mac mini. I'm personalty very disappointed with the new mini from a noise perspective. At idle it's fairly quite but noticeably louder the the 2009 model. The problem is that typical of apple cooling is somewha...

OK I have found out that the MSI H67MS-E33 B3 can do all that I need from it except I'm still unable to confirm if I can disable CPU cores. Anyone know?

H67/H61 questions

Hi, I'm looking to pick up a H67/H61 mini-itx or matx board in the next few days. I need a board that supports the following though: IGP overclocking CPU undervolting Disabling CPU Cores (eg turning 2 cores off) Low idle power consumption I was looking at the following, but can't confirm the feature...

Re: Lowest spec fanless graphics card????

An 8400 GS is probably the slowest card you can still buy new. Some of them have DVI and HDMI so with a convertor should work with your setup. I personal wouldn't go with the HD 5450 as i had one and it's quite surprising how many games it will play with medium / low details.

Re: Quiet nvidia 460 GTX

From the few I have tested the MSI GTX 460 Cyclone was by far the quietest. The Gigabyte card runs it's fans at 1500rpm idle I believe.

I have the MSI E33 with a Core i3 530. Undervolting is limited to 1.1v on this board. That still allowed me to overclock to 3.5ghz @ 1.1v and still save 12w under load. Not great, but worth having. Not all 5750's are equal

Just a little word of warning for you folks. I picked up a HD 5750 made by Powercolor. Once install I noticed that it was idling at 33 Watts, this seemed on the high side so I returned it and got a Sapphire 5750. Installed it and it's pulling 16 Watts. Not sure if this was a one off or the BIOS desi...

HD 5750 Adjusting 2D clocks in Windows 7

Does anyone know of a tool that can adjust the 2D clocks of this card under Windows 7?

I ask because this card is only undercloking to 500/1150 for some reason.
Ati Tool Tray & Riva tunner arn't working.

I'm getting rather high power consumption on this new build and I suspect that isn't helping.

AM3 recommendations?

I haven't used an AMD setup for a while so i’m looking for motherboard recommendations.

I need the following features:
785G + DDR3 support
Sideport would be nice but not needed.
Good range of undervolting options
eSata
IGP overclocking support
MATX

Any ideas?

Thanks for that!

The 9800 GT looks to be the best value card there.

I would opt for the 4830 but I have huge amount of transcoding to do so cuda is more importaint than gaming performance at the monment.

Cheers, Ryan

9600 GT & 9800 GT Green Edition's

I have noticed that both of these card's have "green editions"

I would prefer to go with a 9600/9800 over the 4670 & 4830 due to the CUDA support, trouble is I can't find any power consumption numbers for these card's.

Has anyone had any luck finding them?

PCI Express X1 HDMI card?

Hi,

I'm looking for a half height PCI-E x1 card that has as low power as possible.

All I can find at the moment is a 4550 & 8400GS both of which use to much power for this system.

Any idea's?

Top down cooler to fit Antec 3480

I currently have a Ninja 2 in my 3480 that just about fits in.

I'm looking for a cooler that has it's fan blowing down that will fit this case.

Something like the Scythe Shuriken but a little larger if possible.

Any idea's?
