Mine is supposedly at 343 Watts. No wonder it's pretty warm, heh. One thing I'm a little confused on is does it count the HSF for the video card in their power calculations, or do you need to add an extra system fan? Theoretically it's only a couple watts either way, just something that snagged my b...

I don't know why people are so shy about cutting a hole in the floor to mount a fan. Show that case who is boss,a sabre saw costs about the same as a couple of tubes of thermal grease. depending on the case a side mount/door mount thermal fan could be an answer as it could line up with the vid card...

Okay, here we go. The whole trial. I cannot believe how long it took either. First here's a picture of the old Ceramique I originally applied to the video card. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v691/Okatha/TIM%20Application%20on%206800%20Ultra/OldCeramiqueApplication.jpg Looks okay, but here's the ...

Real quick, need opinion on TIM application.
Does this look okay? More or less? It's Arctic Silver 5 on a 6800U.

Been awhile, but finally decided to do something about this. I ordered some AS5 and Ceramique. AS5 for the core, Ceramique for the memory RAM. If you asked me why I'd have to say... erm, I guess I'm more afraid of putting too much AS5 on the RAM and shorting out the traces than I am of the core. Tru...

Got a question about a SeaSonic 460 A3.
Okay, lately I've been seeing some instability in my rig, especially when I'm pushing things graphically. Here's some specs: SeaSonic 460 A3 A64 3400 Clawhammer MSI Neo Platinum 6800 Ultra WD Raptor 75G Maxtor 250G DVD-ROM DVD+-RW Audigy 2 ZS Basically my computer crashed the other day, no apparent ...

Thanks for the pictures of the duct Ed, now I see what you're talking about. It's a little different from what I had in mind, but looks like it would be good. One thing that just occured to me, it looks like Antec decided to drop the front LED temperature display. That's a little disappointing. I kn...

Take a look at our CES coverage; both, P180 and Sonata II have ducts that pull cool air in from the rear of the case and direct it to the CPU; the ducts are adjustable in three separate directions. I shot photos of all of it. -Ed Actually I was thinking more along the lines of a plastic duct that w...

AntecRep, I was wondering two things. Would it be possible to have either a side blowhole or a rear exhausted duct for CPU cooling made? I don't think I'm too handy with a Dremel to attempt it myself, heh. Secondly, is there a possibility to have a windowed side panel available like with the P160? O...

Whatever you do, NEVER use TIM and thermal pads at the same time. It just adds an extra layer that won't help you. Use one or the other but not both. Heh, yeah. I did clean off the pads and chips before putting Ceramique on the chips. Good to point that out though. I've tried disabling Fast Writes ...

Right, I don't really have any CPU temps to give out because the numbers I saw looked funny, not sure if MSI fixed the problem people were having with temp readings. I did flash the MB with the latest bios though. Any good temp monitor programs? I tried HMonitor, but it was... difficult. The 50C I m...

Thanks for looking that up. (: That's rather interesting. I finally recieved a reply from AC about this, and they said they did have double wide backplates but they were only sending them to distributors. So I sent an e-mail to the place I bought mine at, got a reply rather quickly, saying that they...

Problem with 6800 Ultra and nVidia Silencer 5
Finally managed to get my hands on a 6800 Ultra (eVGA) and I go to mount the Silencer on it. Everything goes well until I see that there's no bracket to screw onto the case to hold the card up, it's going into a tower. See the 6800U takes up two slots and the mounting bracket is two slots wide. I tr...

Is it possible to test a power supply without having the rest of the system components? I just want to make sure it's not DOA.

I got a 460W SS with the Serial ATA ready sticker on it, and it just came with one cable as well. Actually a little concerned about the quality of it, the molex pins seem a little loose. :/ What really sucks is I ordered it from excaliberpc.com, and I returned it to get an A3 (Which they were very h...

I talked to the people at excaliberpc and they had me send the power supply back in for a replacement, so really happy about that.
And check this out:
http://www.excaliberpc.com/product_info ... ts_id=3408
Now it says explicity on the product page "This is revision 3".

Thermal compound.
I was wondering if anyone had any experience using Arctic Silver 5 and Ceramique. I thought I ordered AS5, but it turns out I actually ordered Ceramique. Is there a large difference between the two? Is one any easier to use than the other? I think I saw one review online that compared them, and the ...
