Only intake through CPU HS?

I am building a system in a Fractal Node 304, with an i5-3550, a GTX 750 Ti, and a Seasonic SSR-360GP. The two 92mm intakes don't really excite me as they are in a pretty choked-off location, so I am considering reversing the typical airflow, and having the only intake be from the rear 120mm opening...

I had trouble running even 2 nexus 120mm fans from 1 MB header. They ramped up and down seemingly randomly, even on a header that supposedly could not be controlled or varied at all. In fact, I pretty much don't trust MB headers at all, all of my fans are off fanmates connected to 12v, so maybe I'm ...

Seasonic is a company that "gets it" and is making products for quietness enthusiasts. So why is it still necessary for us to void our warranties and smother coils in liquid electrical tape ourselves to eliminate coil whine? It's not difficult or expensive - they should do it at the factory.

So, all normal sounds can be passed as LPCM via HDMI for up to 7.1 channels (only 5.1 on some older chipsets like AMD 785G). LPCM is decoded audio, the raw data - but it's still digital and still lossless. However, if you're using bitstreaming to play a blu-ray disc over HDMI, there's no way to add ...

Very nearly 100% of the power your PC consumes will be released as heat to the room. However, this is less efficient than a typical home heating system, which works by pumping heat into the house from outdoors. By doing this, your home heating achieves over 100% apparent efficiency. Edit: oh bleh, I...

Cardboard covered in [color of your choice] adhesive-backed felt would look good. One could even argue that the felt might absorb some sound, but I doubt that would really have a non-negligible effect. You can actually line all the interior surfaces of the case with felt and make the look complete. ...

That's a whole lot of CPU you've got there. The best bang-for-your-buck is often the lowest-available component from the newest lineup or technology. Some examples of that would be: Core i3-530 Core i5-750 Athlon II X4 620 Picking this kind of modern-but-low-end CPU is also the best way to get a low...
