Hey guys, just seeing if I'm correct here... I just Panaflo L1A'd ( made in china =\ ) my Antec Smartpower 350, and i didnt' have any resistors besides two Zalman RC56's.... so I tried one [which is @ 7V (0.1A *56ohms= 5.6V drop) and it was still tickin and whoosy. So i decided to try two in series....

AAM on Seagate 7200.7... any updates?

I know this thread has been overkilled, and kinda dead, but has anybody figured out how to enable the AAM on Seagate 7200.7's? I've been scouring the SPCR forums and Yahoo for this topic, and people repeatedly say that they are goin to mess with the firmware to enable AAM on these drives... Just a f...

HDD Suspension

I've been reading up more on SPCR, and I think I'm goin to buy some "stretch magic" substitute called "elasticity". Michael's doesn't carry stretch magic anymore. I will try to use the 3700 BQE HDD cage to do this... Don't know if it'll work... I'll post an update

Re: Almost Silent 3700BQE need more mods! Please Help

By adding sound damping material and using a bottom air intake instead of a front air intake, I get rid of all the idle noise and the periodic buzzing noise. I can only hear the seaks if I listen very carefully and upclose. Thanks Tibors... I was wondering what you meant by bottom air intake... You...

plexi duct on back of case (on PSU and case fans)

R2Fugu.... The plexi ducts are a great idea, but wouldn't pointing them up be a better idea in order to get the hot air to rise out and help w/ airflow?

The warm air would accumulate in there because it likes to rise no?

Your case is awesome by the way... i wish i was that handy

The best freakin video card review ever done

Anandtech.com has a review on video cards that blows all others away. This was exactly what I was looking for for years!!!! Anandtech rocks. http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=2195 From the DX9 standpoint, the Radeon 9600 256MB 128-bit would be the best way to go (it's the highest and ch...

i drive a camry. =)

i tried using the sewing string.... Doesn't transfer ANY vibration to the case due to the small amount of surface area i guess. just tied a lasso loop around the 4 mounting screws, and lasso tied those the floppy cage.

Physics wise

I can image by suspending a HD by string would infer less vibrations than even the elastic would. The string would be allow to oscillate at nodes, and therefore, dissapate any energy transfered to it. The string vibration would not be transfered to the case. the elastic on the other hand, although h...

Regular Sewing String instead of Elastic to suspend HDD??

I was wondering if the elastic that everybody is using to suspend their HDD's has any more benifit that just tying regular string (i.e. sewing or kite string) around the screws of the HDD, and tying the ends of the string to the bottom of the 3 1/2 floppy cage to keep the HDD in the bottom of the ca...

Sapphire 9000 pro best passive heatsink solution

I just purchased a Sapphire 9000 pro for my "silent computer" but the fan is even louder than my Zalman 7000A Cu. I've seen post for passive heatsinks for the GPU such from Zalman, but I wanted your guys' opinion which way would be the best for occasional gaming (not OCing). The passive heatsinks i ...
