Re: Is HDD automatic acoustic management supported by any br
I understand but most users in this forum are not from this vast majority :) And if you have a 24/7 working server in your living room it's irritating to hear the loud clicking seeking noise. It's really disappointing that my old 2TB WD Green was virtually silent even when seeking with AAM enabled w...

Re: Is HDD automatic acoustic management supported by any br
So AAM is dead then. Is there any other way left to reduce seek noise? Special firmwares or any low level settings known?

Will 2x3.5 drives fit in the Jetway JC-300 Mini-ITX case?
I'm considering the Jetway JC-300 for my Mini-ITX NAS build (http://www.jetwaycomputer.com/JC-300.html). I was thinking of removing the HDD cage and stuffing two 3.5'' HDDs in its place but I'm not sure wether there'll be enough space. Could any owner of such a case give an oppinion please? My plan ...

Probably it should be noted somewhere in the review that there are bad samples cause I also suffered from one. I could have bought a lot less noisy PSU for a third of that price. It spins at 600-700RPM and it's clicking badly. Given the complicated fan replacement procedure I'm already looking into ...

I bought the matx version - GA-P55M-UD4 which should be identical to GA-P55A-UD4 fan control wise. At least the manual of those two boards is the same regarding the fan control part. Sadly I can not control neither the CPU fan nor any of the other fans using SpeedFan. Using SpeedFan v4.40, Windows 7...

Gigabyte GA-P55-UD4 Fan Control
I'm considering buying a Gigabyte GA-P55-UD4 for my next machine. I have some questions abount the board fan controls though. 1. The board has a 4pin CPU fan header - does that mean that only 4pin pwm fans can be controlled from the board by BIOS, speedfan or any other way? 2. The board has a 3pin s...

I had the same device with an Epox 8rda+ (Nforce2) board. In the beginning it worked like a charm. Then after a reinstall it worked only if it was unplugged and the replugged when windows was already on so it could reinstall its drivers wich was really annoying. Imagine opening your case and unplugg...

Re: Seasonic SS-400FT and Seasonic SS-400FB, same thing?
In Germany there is currently just one dealer selling Super Tornado PSUs and he's got both a Seasonic SS-400FB (Retail) and a Seasonic SS-400FT (Bulk) listed; the Seasonic SS-400FT is about $25 cheaper. Judging from seasonic's website theay appear to be the same, but are they? FB is the tornado. I'...

Hmm. I don't think that Newegg ships there.... :) There's a guy on the forums with the username burcakb that lives in Turkey. You might look at some of his posts and see what he's using. I think he's running a 6A19. Even if he's not, you could ask him for some sources somewhat local to you. Infact ...

...I'd suggest looking at the Antec SLK3700AMB, or the Compu-case 6A19 or the Evercase 4252... Unfortunately I don't have access to anyone of those available at the local retailer. What I have from Antec is: SLK1600, SLK 2600AMB, Super LANBOY, SONATA, SX1040BII, Plus 1080AMG and thats it. No Everca...

I've been reading the SPCR articles and forums for some time and from them I guess that the case being made of steel instead of Al is a plus due to the lower resonance, being heavier also helps to reduce vibration noise. But at the end I don't have enough experience to decide if I'm on the right tra...

My understanding is that the Super Tornado 300 and SS-300FB are exactly the same thing. The SS-300FT is the same as SS-300FB, except that the SS-300FT doesn't have: Soft-Mounting Rubber Cushion Fan Universal Free Input [100-240V full range] Cable Management Kit [Dr. Cable] Additional connectors: +1...

Newbie needs advice on a Chieftec BX case
I'm new to silent computing and I need an advice about the Chieftec BX case that I consider buying soon. I did a search here on the forums and didn't find anything about it. Is it any good in terms of silence? It's gonna be eventualy the 120mm rear fan version equipped with a Seasonic 400FT (rev.A3)...
