i'ld go with the 6800 gt but for some reason my bfg 6800 GT is not what i expected. maybe its my CPU problem but..... at 1024x768 no aa, no af i ran those anandtech tests and hardocp tests, im getting around 80 fps? at 1280x1024 i think its around 76 or 70, it doesn't really match up with those resu...

the silencer might cool less effectively vs the zalman with ur panaflow, how ever it should be quite equal im not sure about that. the plus for the silencer is that the hot air gets pushed out the case, whereas the zalman will keep the hot heat inside ur case, and add to ur cpu, psu temps, and possi...

wow 68 C idle??? ouch. IMO put a zalman fanmate on it at 5v, works like a charm, its like a sock was stuffed into the NV5's mouth. but don't wory, 68C idle is alrgiht, just make sure u dun load over 100C, remember 6800 cooldown for the gpu is at 120C :o

yep im running it at around 6-7 volts on a zalman fanmate. at that voltage its pretty much quiet to my ear. ur temps will go up though, but no matter the 6800s have a gpu cooldown at 120 C

my highest temp is 73 under load, so no worries.

the top part of the cooler looks like it has been extended outwards to fit the NB heatsink and the CPU heatsink to accomidate the CPU heatsink size. i think thermalright would try their hardest to keep their range of coolers compatibale with each other. lets hope they do :?

i guess if u have the fan blow it would go against the back of the card.

i think it would be better if it sucked the air so that air goes upward towards the case fan, cpu, and psu.

you know if u still have the stock heatsink, u could put some artic silver on it, and RMA it to ATI, worked for me! 8). make sure u use a silver thermal compound cas ati ships videocards with silver compound. if u get the BFG6800 its gonna be loud for sure, due to the single slot solution. personall...

even when its controled by a fanmate. currently my only option is to slow the fan down until i can't hear the clicking.

i have a 120mm nexus myself... and its the best 120mm fan i have come across yet, its so smooth the only thing i can hear is the whoooshing sound from air being pushed. yes front fans are pretty much pointless unless ur running at really cfm. im running a ss tornado 400 at 800 rpm idle, 120mm nexus at 1000rpm, and a arctic silencer NV5, my case has an additional 120 in the front, but its pointless since the cfm being moved out is greater than the intake. unless u e...

anyone know how big of a ram sink you need for a 6800 GT? cas on the gainward 6800 models the ram sinks are huge.

try putting the heatsink into the freezer for like 30 min or like an hour... then try to pry it off, worked for me when i took off a glued on fan for a tnt2 card. if not try a pci slot cooler from vantec. or a zalman pci thingy that hangs off the pci screws. lol sorry im really busy no time to link :(

yeah i too have an arctic cooler, the NV5 the buzzing is just unbarable haha. im about to spice those wires out into a zalman fanmate. my case has pretty good airflow and i'm confident i don't need to regulate the temps that much when gaming, it may increase load temps, but a GPU can go up to 120 C ...
