Various cables at Performance-PCs . Yes, but I'm looking for connectors, not cables. I'm trying to make 2 cables to beautify my P180: 1) 4 sata right-angle power connectors, 1 molex (male) connector on the end. This is to power my raid array in the lower bay. Before I attach the molex, I'm going to...

Yeah, but they're in Canada and charge more to ship than the connectors cost. :( Flat $20CDN for shipping to the states.

Anyplace to buy right-angle SATA and Molex power connectors?

Hey all, I want to make some custom cables to tidy up the olde P180. I need to buy right-angle SATA and Molex power connectors. I want to use black to be color-consistent. Right now, my regular supplier, jab-tech, is all out. Anybody know another place I can get them? Any national retailers sell the...

Why did you not recommend the Phantom 350 for my application? Not enough power? More or less. W/4 HDDs and dual core, you might as well have a little extra headroom. You're going to need a 120mm fan in the lower chamber anyway, so as long as this is in place, you should be able to keep the P500 fan...

I am currently running a Phantom 350 and 2 RAIDed WD 250G HDDs in a P180 (w/DFI GF4, A64 3500+ Venice, 1G RAM, NV6800GT). A Nexus 120 fan at 5V runs in the lower chamber. I don't have any temp monitoring of the lower chamber, but the back of the PSu is never hot and the HDDs always feel whenever I'...

Doing the math: Actually, I got it wrong; went too fast. Antec cites the following -- 5V=35A, 3.3V=35A, 12V1=17A, 12V2=19A -- on this page: http://www.antec.com/specs/SP500_spe.html But the 5V & 3.3V lines have a combined maximum of 180W, AND the combined +5V, +12V1, 12V2 and +3.3V maxload is...

I don't recommend any fanless PSU in the P180 w/o a fan. I never intended it to be used with a fanless PSU. If It had been, I'd have specified a much bigger path for heat conduction from the PSU to the case. A good fan blowing like 10~15cfm is inaudible and will keep any decently efficient, reasona...

Anyone have a SPII-500 in a P180? It looks good cable-wise. It's listed as 3db louder than the SS-400W at 200W, but what about the SS-460W, which is what I'd get? I'd imagine they're about the same in the lower chamber of a P180 + Nexus 120mm. Can anybody confirm or deny? I'm ordering the case, but...

Hey all, I'm getting a P180 that I intend to load up with Nexus 120mm fans. Before you go crazy, I'm just looking for a quieter computer than this crazy loud workstation I have. The 4 Nexus fans won't even come close. That said, I bought a nexus mount kit, but it only has 8 of the long iso-mounts. W...

My original concept for the P180 PSU chamber was to use a straight-through 80mm conventional PSU. Among them, the Seasonic Super Silencer 460 is the one I'd get for your rig -- then swap out the stock fan for a Panaflo 80 medium speed fan. And block off the extra grills around the PSU on the back o...

I'm using a Nexus 120mm exhaust and another Nexus 120mm up in front of the drive cage.

Re: Giving up on my BQE (too hot) what do I need for a P180?

The P180s airflow, while slightly better isn't going to vastly change your temps (actualy, some people have actualy had worse temps when coming from a 3700/sonata). What exactly are the temps you are getting? I'm using an XP-90 with 92mm Nexus. With my S12-430, I get idle 40C, dual Prime95 load 57C...

P180 height?

Hey all,

Are the P180 height measurements to the top of the fan cover or to the top of the case proper? If you put the P180 on plush carpet, how high does it sit above the carpet? I'm thinking of getting one for my office, but it looks to be a tight fit below my desk.

Which Antec is quieter? SL350S or SP2-450?

Hey all,

I know the wattage is different, but I'm experimenting with different power supplies. Will the Antec SL350S (comes with the SLK3700-BQE) be quieter or louder (under average usage) than the SmartPower 2.0 450W?

Changing the fans in the Antec SP2-450?

Hey all,

I was wondering if any people have had success in changing the fans in the SmartPower 2.0 450W PS? I see that they use thinner fans, but it looks like there's room. How much quieter could I expect to get it while still effectively exhausting the heat?

Thanks,

IIRC, in another post you mentioned you had a WD Raptor mounted in one of the 5.25" bays. I'd imagine this contributes much more heat to the 5.25" area than a few small vent holes in the Seasonic. I thought of that, too. So I unplugged it. Same issue. Also, I can actually feel the heat radiating ou...
