Hmmm not too sure about how they test. Dont think anyone can give a believable answer unless someone video tapes the process. Ever tried reading that thread about their dubious marketing? SilenX people made different personas to promote their product and blast other people. Never knew those tactics ...

Damn too bad seasonincs are not avaliable over there :( How about ordering one from North American and shipping it (or is the shipping cost not worth it...?)

May I ask what is the main purpose of the machine? Seems like quite a bit of power (or maybe graphics cards nowadays just need that much...)

SilenX, Vantec what a dreaded name in these boards. Oust-standing premium for outstanding peformance (in the noise department) , kind of like Bose? Have you tried running "Speedfan" and monitoring the temperatures? hopefully from that data you can work your way around and see how many fans you need....

Wow sounds pretty spiffy! Most of those components are from the recommended list, cant go too wrong. One thing though, Prescott can get pretty hot. How about 3.0 or 3.2 Northwood? Not to try to sound like a ATi fan boy, but how about a all in wonder 9800 pro for your graphics set up? Dont know much ...

Cutting the fan grills is not too bad at all, get some tin snips and a file and start cutting away =) Have not tried the 120mm fan for sonata but if people say it's fine then great =) I think Antec has pretty good power supplies (think that's why it's popular at first ? good stable power...) but try...

Yeah, have not tried Globe yet (hopefully sometime in the future) but the nexus at 12V is quiet, maybe even silent if you have other noiser components in your system. If you dont have too many drives and stuff, Nexus would be a good choice =)

yeah.. along those lines but 1 quick question, Does your PSU inside have a 2 pin fan header? If it does then the job wont be so messy, if not... maybe soldering (thats a big maybe) with a tucked (and shortened wires) fanmate to control the RPM??

Good luck

For instance, the nexus 120 mm: 1000 RPM (1050 RPM for me under speedfan) 22.8 dBA 36,87 CFM akasa 120mm 1400RPM 18.9 dBA 44.8 CFM There are a few scenarios: 1. Akasa is ...
