The Criticool was a device you would plug into a PCI slot that would power up AC devices (IE, pumps/fans) when you powered up your motherboard. i've removed the board from my system and tested that card that initially blew the traces. I did check what I thought was obvious. In fact, I have tested the offending card - the SB Live - and it still works.
