It's strange that you feel surprised of that incompatibility, because i'ts clearly stated Incompatible on Zalman site:

For someone who was that concerned about methodology and "real comparisons", that's a pretty half-assed test you've done there: You haven't read my previous posts (even the title of the topic where you are replying), I'm not doing a general test , but a comparison between 3 heatsinks in my rig , wi...

so we can extrapolate interpolate  No, no I confirm, extrapolate ;) Useful blowing area of a 92mm fan: 6217 mm² Useful blowing area of a 120mm fan: 9785 mm² - it's 50% more than 92mm fan For that calculation i didn't extrapolate the hub diameter of a 92mm, just took the 80mm fan diameter. The...

if surface area (top) of the heatsink is only 92^2 mm^2 and the fan area is 120^2 mm^2, maybe at the perimeter (incidentally where there is max airflow) it is wasted on the si-97? or you are planning to build a sort of 'funnel' to pipe the 120 down onto the smaller top of the heatsink? The mesured ...

Re: Athlon Mobile XP 3000+ - need advice
I'm debating a CPU upgrade from my Athlon XP 2000+. http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDesc.asp?description=19-103-482&catalog=23&manufactory=BROWSE. The link you give is a DTR model, so as far as I know DTR models consumption is 72W. Other models 2400M, 2500M & 2600M (not DTR) have a lower consu...

@ Jojo540 if you use a 120mm Globe, you won't be able to use that on the zalman too.. :( Silentboost have a 80mm stock fan, Zalman a 90mm stock fan and my SI-97 modded a 120mm fan, so I know that I'll compare 3 heatsinks with 3 different diameter fans. BUT , don't forget that the SI-97 is only a he...

The test data for the SI-97 is in my hands and what's required is for me to pull it all together into a review article. This should happen within a week. Anyone wanting to go out and buy one NOW -- just go ahead. If you are looking for a top socket A cooler, you won't lose; it's at least as good as...

By comparing the °C/W numbers, which are really a measure of its design efficiency, independent of its compatibility. Ok, but it's only an "intellectual comparison", but not a real comparison in same conditions, with same CPU, comparing the temperature results. We hope that in your announced future...

Is this for a Socket A system? I expect the SI-97 should win* - the XP-90 is aluminium, but still manages to beat just about every all-copper cooler out there. *That's ThermalRight's new Socket A aluminium HS with heatpipes, similar to the XP-90 design, right? XP90 doesn't feet socket A, and XP90 h...

I used the Ceramique on both the SilentBoost and SI-97. Belive me, uprade to the SI-97 and a quiet fan like the Nexus or one of your preference, and you will be running cooler and a lot, lot quieter. And I am using the copper shim also on the SI-97 right now. I plan to upgrade to a SI-97 and mod it...

Arrgh!!!! Assuming than the ratio between Al & CU model will be about 1.8 to 1.9, (for Zalman 7000 it's 1.7, but the AlCu as some copper) the Cu model weight can be estimated to +/- 1,.1 to 1.2 Kg  1.2Kg & a length of 14.5cm, my motherboard will not resist to this lever :!: So i'll have to wa...
