I just recently sold off my audio system (spendor 1/2e's, musical fidelity a308cr amp & Audio Research LS15 preamp) I've on order a Blue Circle NSCS integrated amp and a pair of Shahinian Arc speakers. I'm really trying to simplify my audio system into a musical enjoyment center rather than a audiop...

The future is now PC to Stereo
The CD player to a certain extent is going to become passe. People are more and more are going to rip their CD's in an uncompressed format straight to a hard drive. They'll use the computer through a DAC to play their music. Is anyone doing this? If so, what caveat emptor's do you have for those of ...

Thanks for the tinnitus suggestion. My only trouble is I have the audiology report with a graph reading that says I need to be investigating some other areas. When my brother and I were kids there were some stores which we refused to go into with our mom. The alarm system just screamed at us. She al...

The other end of the sound spectrum... high frequencies
Every post deals with the noises most all people are capable of hearing. The lower decibles.
My issues have to do with high frequencies. The electronic signature emitted by the various components which comprise a computer.
Is there anyone out there trying to deal with this issue?

regarding the ASUS A8V, make sure you've the most recent bios and have surfed this forum regrading starting up a 3500+ 90nm winchester CPU. Based on my experiences I've been recommending the MSI neo platinum board. As a matter of fact, i believe, that with the nvidia chipset it's getting better revi...

Based on your listed usage I say buy an Apple and be happy. Otherwise as a newbie unless the ASUS A8V motherboard has the 1004 bios, avoid it. Look at the MSI K8N Neo 2 Platinum. Excellent reviews. The manual supplied with the motherboard will answer many of your questions and allay most of your fea...

Grampa is going to buy his granddaughter a computer for Christmas. And since gramps has come to me for advice... I'm coming to this forum for some input. This will be my nieces first computer. I'm running a ASUS A8V with a winchester AMD 3500+ (socket 939). The AMD has a Zulman 7000b alcu fan. The Kong Fai case has a nexus 120mm exhaust fan. Right now, as I'm writing this; the AMD "Quiet Cool" feature is saying the processor is running at 1000Mhz @ 1.075v. SpeedFan says the Zulman is turn...

Time for an update. I've settled down. My new system in the Fai Kong case is up and running. When you finally do get to speak with the techs at ASUS they are friendly and helpful. I'm sitting here at this very moment fuming about ASUS customer support. TERRIBLE! Iv'e a A8V Deluxe with an AMD 3500+ and winchester chip set. Brand new and the damn thing won't boot. First let me give kudo's to those who contribute to this site and to those who run the site. Kudos! I wish I'd have found it sooner. Sure would have saved me some $$$ in shipping charges returning substandard goods. I've purchased a Fong Kai case (FK333) into which an Asus A8V Deluxe via K8T800 Pro ...
