Re: Build: Lian Li PC-X2000F, Silverstone FT02, or Antec P28

I think he refers to the Air Penetrator version of Silverstone`s fans, essentially a regular fan with a grille added which focuses airflow. If I`m not mistaken, later revisions of the FT02 include those. Now, any of those cases should do the job with ease so you might as well pick the one you like ...

Re: Build: Lian Li PC-X2000F, Silverstone FT02, or Antec P28

Ah, yes, I keep forgetting about the 180mm fans, I like the thought, just not the fact that no one else makes that size... Leaning more toward the X2000F, because I don't plan on using a top of the line GPU.

What do you mean by AP's?

Re: Build: Lian Li PC-X2000F, Silverstone FT02, or Antec P28

Ugh, still can't decide on this. Part of me wants to go cheap, the other part wants the X2000F. I like the FT02, but don't know if I'd like the rotated design or not...cases shouldn't be this hard to decide on! :|

Build: Lian Li PC-X2000F, Silverstone FT02, or Antec P280

Looking at doing a new build for my PC at home. This PC serves as mostly an internet browsing machine for the family, and for me, a lot of photo editing (Lightroom 3), some HD video playing/editing, and occasional programming. No gaming, or at least, not that which is graphics intensive. When I buy ...

Thanks for the review of all these fans. Helps out a lot. How about a recommended AC fan page? We recently bought an entertainment center for our living room, and now the HTPC and the 4 drive mass storage case are running hotter than they used to. I'd like to modify the entertainment center with one...

I'm thinking about getting some of the 80mm versions. This place: http://svcompucycle.stores.yahoo.net/fan-uc-8eb.html has them for less than $10 out the door, when using First Class shipping. I'm just worried about the vibration people are talking about. I was originally considering the Nexus 80mm ...

As far as I know, you can't "flash" hard drives with firmware. You get what it comes with.

I don't follow what you are talking about. As far as I know, the T133 series aren't even out yet, so how could they already be judged as poor performers? The T133 series itself tells you that they are using 133GB platters in the 300 and 400GB drives. What drives are you spacifically talking about, ...

does anyone else think the poor performance may be because they are using 100GB platters?.. i'd say they certainly aren't using the 133GB platters that would be in the 400gb model, as that requires TMR to achieve a higher (aerial..sp?) density.. and the fact they are slower than the p120's would su...

Wow. Thanks for all the replies. You guys have sold me on it now. Depending on how loud the fan is (going in an A-Tech 6000 HeatSync case, so it has a lot of holes in the top and bottom, therefore, must be fairly silent), I may try to under volt it with an inline resistor (unless I can control the f...

Anyone use this MCX159-R from Swiftech on their chipset?

It's $40, and fan dBa says 18. Just wondering if anyone had used it.

I'm looking at replacing the screamer on an A8N-SLI board with it, and wondered how it worked out. The Zalman NB47J I heard gets really hot.

Hmm...Found the Papst web site. The fan I was talking about was the Papst 8412NGLLE. They have a fan listed as 8412NGL but no LE extention. I think you are right, that the right fan is the 3412NGL(LE) for the 92mm version. No searches turn up if including the LE though. I'm guessing that it doesn't ...

I came across this fan on the www.endpcnoise.com web site, and wondered if it had been tested (Papst 8412NGLLE)? I'm really looking for a 92mm fan, and wondered if anyone knew if Papst made an LE version of their 92mm fan?

It looks like the next best thing is the Nexus 92mm case fan, right?

A 1W 5V zener (in theory) can provide up to 200mA of current. (Power = Voltage * Current, or Current = Power / Voltage) So, if your fan is rated at pulling less than 200mA of current at 12V, then you will be fine, since your fan will be running at 7V, and therefore will be pulling less current anywa...

First thing I'd do when building a new system, is to burn all those floppy drivers (drivers that come on a floppy) to a CD, that way, you won't need the floppy again next time.

It could be shipping damage. However, when drives are powered down correctly, the head (the part that reads/writes to the magnetic media) is usually parked, which means it isn't in a place that could damage the media. A hard drive can usually sustain a significant amount of shock damage when the dri...

The reason for the single partition, is to simplify everything. Is this a new drive? Do you have a computer that possibly has SATA support, that isn't RAID based.
