I've seen a few different stock HSFs from Intel. It's true, they can be fairly quiet, but in summer when they're under a lot of load they are not quiet. There are different sized ones and ones made from different materials. One time I was lucky enough to get copper core ones with the E6750, which s...

The PSU is quiet enough from 1m with the fan stopped. I, however, am not to comfortable (well, I'm not confident, my girl friend is uncomfortable) with me opening up the power supply to change the fan. Is anyone in Sydney, Australia (preferably the northern side) who is able to do this for me? All ...

This line replaces the Neopower series - Antec no longer has the neo PSUs in their warehouse either for sale or for RMA. All successful RMAs will be replaced by Trupower New, made in 2008 or 2009. I just got one of these from a RMA, and it seems similar to the Neo, except it has I think 3-4 seperate...

It depends on which fan intel gives you. I got 3 different fans from dif manufactuers. The Delta fan is very quiet, while the NIDEC better. The Fujikura is fairly poor.

Put a delta into a P150 Antec case and you can only hear the fan if it ramps up to 80% or higher.

Shorter lifespan, even shorter lifespan in high heat environments (like in powersupplies).

Seriously guys, why take it to this extreme? If the fan fails, then it might start a fire.

I noticed a slight design on the reset buttons with the solo I just got (compared to the P150 front panel that got replace by Antec due to broken reset button). Looking at this brand new solo made in august 2006, I see that: there are now 2 diagonal limiters that limit how far the reset button can m...

In Canada, they have been dumping the Solo (black) for about $50-60 after rebate, probably due to the impending introduction of the Sonata Designer cases.

I too have thought of using Magic Eraser for damping. However, if you have been watching or reading the news, you would have heard that this particular product is made with formalihyde (stuff used for embalming), which is also considered cancerous. Now if you have actually used Magic Eraser foam, yo...

I want to warn you that this is a bad, bad idea. Take a piece of the leftover foam, then light a match under it for 1/4 of a second - the foam will turn into something close to bubbling fire. If you had lit this under a larger piece of foam, just like in your case, all the foam would have lit up. Ob...

It's not Enermax's fault (other than giving the contract to Comtronic). Comtronic is the regional distributor for all of Canada. Your best choice is to contact Enermax USA by toll free and voice your displeasure with the quality, then with the shady service by Comtronic. They can to some extent infl...

You can ask for them a replacement and they will give you the whole cover where the 2 buttons are shipped to you at their cost.

This isnt a case of replacing buttons becaue the buttons are plastic that is part of the case.

Ya it's crap. And it is very easy to break it.

Antec 430HE and UPS

Does the active ppc of this PSU cause the UPS to drain far faster than say a non-active ppc? I got 2 systems, granted 1 is older but it has a 470 Enermax Noisetaker 1, and with a 21" monitor plugged in, the Antec 430HE system drains in less than 10 secs, while the 470 Enermax will take 2.5 mins Anyo...

Opinion on fan placement Solo/P150

So the Solo or P150 has 1 120mm case fan venting hot air. Now, directly parallel to that is my giant ninja heatsink with fan blowing into the fins, on the other side is the Solo fan blowing out that hot air. Question: Is it better to have the stronger fan blowing INTO the heatsink and slower fan blo...

**GIGABYTE GA-965P-DS3 firmware question

Is there any sticker on the mobo or box itself indicating which firmware is flashed on the mobo when it is brand new?

Or do I turn it on to find out?

I got ram that needs the F4 bios (since the ram runs only at 2.1volts) and have no other sticks of ram that runs at 1.8volts.

Since this comes in a package, is there ANY way to tell which version of the PSU is given to you short of opening the box??

So long as the amperate on each rail is adequete then all is well. I use a 24 to 20 pin adapter for my nforce 2 system with no problems.

24pin native ps also means that you no longer got a dedicated rail "AUX" for the AGP card. Shouldnt be a problem for the newer PSU

Maybe it's just the fortran that is the problem. My enermax 460 has no problems with my nforce2 and mobile barton. 5volt line never dips below 4.90volts even under the worst cast scenario and measured from the extra molex coming from my 9800pro.

Setting it at low would give you equal cooling as default ati fan. There is no known way of undervolting your card, unless your bios allows that. You can use radlinker to lower the core speed and mem speed to keep temp low, and use radliner to overclock or normal clock only when playing games.
