The only good thing about that case is that big fan, which can be done with any case that we already have.

Get a fan controller or DIY.

Why don't you replace that 120x25 fan that you have back there for a 120x38? You would get less noise, better case cooling and your CPU temps would drop a lil bit more. I have an Antec 1650 which is almost the same as yours, but with 120x38 fans installed. Take a look. http://members.lycos.co.uk/her...

I've just used these pieces of aluminum, they're used as windows rails.
Very cheap, and they work really well.

The top part isn't the one that gets hotter, I would place the sensor below the HDD, near the centre, or on any of the sides.

You can check that, just run a defrag or something, and start touching the HDD at different spots. ;)

I would mod that case and put a 120mm instead of two 92mm, if possible a 120mm x 38mm fan.

Why don't you just run the fans directly off the PSU?

Why don't you just make some holes in the foam and screw it to the case?
That way it would be totally soft mounted and a lot more quiet. ;)

Well, first of all I got this case just a couple of weeks ago. Some days ago I've cut a front intake and placed a 120x38 fan, the one that you can barely see at the back is another 120x38 fan. I don't have a window, and I don't plan to have one, I never liked windows. The sandwich works great, in my...

I've just heatsinked both HDDs without any fan and the temperatures are ok. My Seagate is even cooler than many Seagates of the same kind that I've seen over here. To the left it's a Samsung, on the right it's the Seagate, with smaller heatsinks because it's going to be into a server. http://members...

I know that you shouldn't do this if you're paying for a good product, but if you're afraid, I would just replace those capacitors. It's something really easy to do, but remember that the caps can give you a very nice big shock. If you don't want to get shocked, or you don't know how to solder/desol...

TMM, why don't you underclock that beast?
You may go fanless with it, or is it a Palomino?
Why don't you use a "1 fan solution", I mean, only one fan to cool down the HDD, CPU and PSU, a big 120x38 with a fan controller.

wixy, to get a proper reading you need a multimeter, don't trust what those proggies say about your voltages. ;)

Check it while idle and also under full load.
Also remember that it isn't perfect, you have a 5% tolerance.

I have some 120x38 fans that start at 4V without any problem, and they're "heavy" fans.

If yours doesn't even start at 3V, make a kick start circuit.
Once the fan is spinning, it doesn't need that voltage, the "high" voltage is needed to get the fan to spin.

You can make your own spiral wrap.
Just get a tube (size and colour up to you), and cut it with an exacto knife, of course, making a spiral. ;)

I was going to throw you the link that showed this, but I cannot find it.
If you want to do it, it was at www.bit-tech.net
