the slots are half height, the card came wth a full height retention plate, but because the card is small enough to fit in the case the retention plate can be bent at the top of the card, cut and drilled. and then its like having a half height card. essentially the card fits, but the backplate doesn...

graphics card for the Antec minuet
while im here ill just put this on record - it would have helped me in not taking a risk on a card i had no physical dimensions for.
the saphire radeon 7000 (64mb sdr). will fit in the antec minuet case. it needs the face plate to be altered but other than that it is fine.
cheers

i wasnt sure whether to put htis here or in the off topic, i selfishly decided here because more people would see it;) my beloved keyboard is on its way out, an altercation with a glass of water has left it with the green death, so i wanted to get some advice on a replacement from some of the people...

i am a very big fan of the panaflo's i have tried several differnt 'quiet' models (including the laughable zalman fans) and the panaflos are by far the quietest, i am down to audible at a few feet away (just) and at night, if the windows are shut and my sytem is fairly cool and powerful. the worst f...

Half height card with tv out?
i am desperatly trying to source a half height, fanless graphics card for a htpc i am building, eventually (when antec sort out the lack of fans) it will be in a minuet case. i currently have 2 options both relatively cheap and apear to be fanless. i have the fan directions reversed at the moment, not in a sonata though. to be homest it hasnt made that much of a difference to the temps or the noise, the hdd is a little hotter, but other than that pretty much the same. i have got the top bay of my computer completely open though, this means the...

i suspect the answe would be to do a direct swap for a 120mm lia, and if that doesnt run quite enough, dont link it up to the psu power connector, just link it straigt to a speed controller and external power source. that way you can make it as quite as you like. i may be stateing he obvious, or mis...

matrox tv out cable use on 'standard' video card
i suspect the answer is a big no, possibly with warnings like 'you will blow up your tv', or graphics card. however i will ask all the same as if the answer is yes all my problems are solved, elegantly too. i have a vga-s-video/video cable left over from a matrox g450 (or perhaps 400), lovely card b...

oh, now you have me thinking of waiting, mike. the minuet with an 80mm case fan, and a swap out on the psu fan, would be much better than botching the aopen case, it looks like ill just have to wait a few weeks then, though i've no idea how long the revised cases will take to filter to the uk. mind ...
