.13 should be signifcantly lower wattage than .18, with .11 even less wattage, all else being equal. But all things are NOT equal, and ATI and nVidia put a lot more onto their chips than Matrox. That's irrelevant, along with this obsession with the process size. Dan, nearly any fanless card with DV...

(Not MikeC, but) I've seen one that my buddy was building a box with, the passive sink is pretty big. Here is a good shot of it.

G400* would be best for HTPC because their TV-Out quality is still unmatched. They use the external maven chip to drive the TV, while the later G-Series cards have an internal on-die TV controller. It's just not as good. (Another Matrox fan joins the conversation, good to see there are quite a few h...

There should not be any quality degradation issues between any different cards using DVI. Things should be equal, but I've heard of some Nvidia cards not conforming to the proper DVI standards, and thus not working right. The edge Matrox has here is the ability of using higher resolutions with their...

Samsung SP1604N Spotted, USA
I don't think it's been posted, but I was cruising over at newegg and I spotted the 160GB 8MB 7200RPM Samsung drive.

When I still had a Parhelia, I used a Cooljag 1U heatsink for an athlon, it worked pretty well. I'd suggest you do some searching over at MURC.
Some people have used the Zalman ZM80HP on it, and even though Zalman said it would not work, it appears to.

http://hardocp.com/article.html?art=NDc5 read that review. watch the 5600 ultra be beaten out by the 9600 pro in every benchmark (at stock speeds, overclocked vs stock is not really viable in my opinion) Not to mention the 5800 ultra and 5900 ultra are huge and noisy. IMO and many other hardware en...

And crappier. They use a Fixed Point pipelines for pixel shaders where ATI uses floating point. This might cause FX to be quicker in apps that uses FP since ATI emulates FP with floats. But floats are much better in several ways. More precision and the circuit design becomes more clean. And one imp...

Matrox is not one to "optimize" for benchmarks. I don't think that the nForce2 makes that much of a difference so there must be something wrong there. The KT400 scores should indicate what the performance is really like. We don't yet know the clocks of P650/P750. I have not yet seen those men...

I guarantee you that if you leave your G400 you will miss the dualhead. Having said that, I think a P650 would work pretty well for you. It's going to be faster, or at least on par with a GF4MX, it's fanless, and it's got FAA 16x which doesn't take much performance away at all and it's gorgeous. The...

Matrox P650
Matrox just introduced the new P650 which is passively cooled, just thought I'd drop this tidbit of info down here. It's using the new ParheliaLX chip, based on the original of course. No Triple-Head ( P750 ), but $169 MSRP and Matrox seems great to me. Edit: It appears I said "seems like great to m...

I know of a few people at the MatroxUsers Forum that have been using the ZM80A-HP on their Parhelias.
Check here
Also, most people with Parhelias there (myself included) have added a CoolJag 311 and RAMSinks. Check threads like this, and this.
