I tried it and it does really work. Even if you live in an apartment I'm sure you can find a place to put your pc in. You just have to be creative. For example one night when my neighbor was out I broke into his room and hid my pc in his closet , I drilled a hole in the wall and ran all the cables t...

Lots of us here use grommets from Mcmaster-carr.com. It's a big store so i suggest you search the forums for the right part number. They have will call in the chicago area if you want to save on shipping. Regular grommets and washers are available at Radio Shack, Home depot , Walmart etc..

I got it from SPCR supporter Exoticpc.com Its the Ahanix brand (mines didnt have any logo on the case -their current one seems to have coolcases printed on the very top) Side windows and multiport card reader are extra. Yes a full ATX mobo will not allow you to use 2 of the 4 top 5.25 bays (at least...

A little off topic but does anyone know how to wire a fan so it only turns on after reaching a certain temperature? I was thinking about modding a 2 fan PSU. First I'd replace the main fan with a panaflo undervolted to 5-7 using a resistor. I would like to hook up the second fan to only come on when...

I believe Butane (cigarette lighter fluid) can be used as fluid in a heatpipe. It should be readily available. Not sure where one could get the right fittings except from an empty lighter of course

Interesting Idea for hard drive silencer -opinions?

Has anyone here tried this idea?
http://www.firstpr.com.au/sys-admin/Silent-Hard-Drive/
looks like it could work maybe with some extra sound proofing lining. How about an aluminum box lined with that block printing rubber and one of those centrifugal blowers running at 5-7 volts?
