Could not connect to work server

My main folding machine started giving me this message a few days ago. I now have at least 3 completed work units to upload and it's not working.

A picture speaks a thousand words, so here is a screenshot of my folding window:

Can anyone help?

I found an excellent link when researching the posts on ocforums. I'm now running at 250*10 with DDR at 1:1 (the fact that it's not 1:1, but DDR400 in the BIOS was throwing me. Seems illogical, but there you have it). http://asustech.15.forumer.com/index.php?showtopic=622 Thanks for the help folks! ...

Thanks for the link to ocforums. Some good stuff there. I was hoping for a run down of what to do in the BIOS as it's not quite as clear cut as it was with the A8V. For instance, there's no memory divider, at least nothing with a ratio of the sort that I'm used to. Bumping the memory to DDR500 (I th...

A8N-SLI Premium and DDR500 @ 250MHz

Hi folks. I have an ASUS A8N SLI Premium motherboard with Mushkin DDR500 RAM and a 3500+ Winchester. I've been trying to get the RAM running at 250MHz and it's designed to, whilst keeping the CPU down to stock speed or perhaps a bit faster. The long and short of it is that I tinkered for a while, ha...

I think I'm gonna get a MacBook. I was gonna wait until Leopard came out, but I hear that it won't be out until next spring. Then I thought about waiting to see whether they would announce a shift to the Core 2 Duo platform, but that might not even happen, so it could be time to buy into the Mac pla...

Wow, hard to find! Good catch. Too bad it's not SATA but I can live with that. Idle is 7 watts and 2.2 bels -- should be nice. Now to find a retailer... I upped the voltage to 2.6V (not sure what it was before as it was set to Auto) and spent the last couple of hours getting XP back to where I like it and installing my apps. So far, so good!

Temp wise, Everest is listing the motherboard at 43ºC and the CPU at 48ºC.

Fingers crossed!

Thanks for the RAM voltage recommendation Candor. Sounds like that might just be the ticket. Openwheel - as the problem was there during Windows installation and even before that, during the disk formatting (i.e. system completely freezing) it can't really be a driver-related issue and your previous...

I left it running Windows over night with the fan sort of aimed at the chipset and got up this morning to a frozen desktop. As far as I can tell, the heatpipe is as hot as the little square heatsink on the chipset. I can get into my OS so what would I use to get a temp reading for the chipset? I had...

ASUS A8N SLI Premium - heat issue?

I'm FINALLY up and runnng on my new A8N SLI Premium motherboard with 2GB of RAM and my 3500+ Winchester. During disk formatting and Windows installation, it froze a few times and I had to switch it off for a while before powering up again. I know the chipset heatsink is supposed to run hot, but this...

I thought I had explained it reasonably clearly, at least it was as clear as I could make it in my frustrated and exhaustive state. In a nutshell, forgetting all other drives, my SATA drive would not boot into Windows. I got that blue screen every time. So, installing drivers in the traditional mann...

I just tried disabling the Silicon Image Raid Controller in the BIOS and it hasn't made a difference. I have two identical SATA drives, 1 and 2. I just did a fresh install of XP on drive 2 in the hope that I could figure out where different bits and pieces go, then copy them into the same location o...

Right, I'm posting from the A8N-SLI machine. I installed XP onto a fresh IDE drive with now SATA drives plugged in. Didn't have a chance to figure things out yesterday due to a migraine. Should get a chance this afternoon. I have Windows installed on my SATA drive. Thanks for the help folks. I'll see if I can figure something out later on today. I'll see how it all runs without a fan on the Ninja but it's good to know that I can try shifting my rear case fan to the outside to pull air through. That would get air blowing on the mofset too. And I do have a sound...

Help with Asus A8N SLI Premium please

Just a quick message before I go to bed as I'm up WAY too late tonight. I spent much of the afternoon and all of this evening installing my new motherboard to replace my faulty A8V Deluxe. I got an A8N SLI Premium and a Scythe Ninja HS. I took out everything and started from scratch so as to give it...

That's a good idea about the castors. I actually tried using a skateboard last night but it was too deep for the cubby hole that houses my SLK300B. I still might do it that way but take the desk drawer out. Then it would work. I planned on using four erasers stuck down with BluTack as wheel blocks. ...

Wow, that ATX board might just be the very thing! I never even though to look in that section at Kustom PCs. I'm always kind of reluctant to go "low end" but I found a review which claims that the performance is as good as any nForce 4 SLI board, including A8N-SLI Premium. One concern is that the NB...

GeForce 6600 vs GeForce 7300GS

My motherboard has packed in so it's time to upgrade. I'm choosing between two ASUS boards, both of which require a PCI-e graphics card. Since my A8V Deluxe takes AGP, it's time for a new video card as well. The two passively-cooled ones available from my preferred vendor are these: AOpen GeForce 66...

They don't have the A8R-MVP in stock and the reviews I've read lead me to believe that it might be wise to up the ante a little and choose between the A8N SLI-Premium or the A8N32-SLI Deluxe. As I understand it, the Deluxe has X16 for graphics or something like that, but that's not really important ...

It's pretty certain that my Asus A8V Deluxe has a faulty RAM slot . Asus A8V Deluxe and new RAM - faulty mobo?

I started out with two 512 MB sticks of Crucial Ballistix RAM in my motherboard. It became unstable so I spent a week running diagnostics before sending it back to the vendor with the motherboard and CPU for them to test it. They too found faults but inconsistent ones. I changed the RAM to Corsair X...
