Is this anywhere near a point? The urge to lock and/or delete is strong. Just do it. Don't even think about it. Lock it, leave it there for half an hour, then delete it. Then gag the original poster temporarily. Then, go to his house, and install several Thermaltake products in his computer case, a...

One thought. AMD has leaked info on a 4200+ San Diego single core that is supposed to be coming soon (August?, No one really seems to know) that's clocked at 2600 with 1 MB cache. That might be a useful upgrade over the 3700+ and might be worth waiting for. I say this as a happy 3700+ owner (it's a...

Whatever they decide to call it, they should change up their naming scheme a bit, and not call it "Windows" at all. "MS-DOS 9" would be alright with me.

I don't have any problem with eating the rats. I just think, if nobody wants them, it's practically a non-issue anyway, because why should we care if the birds go extinct? It's not like without those birds, the global ecosystem collapses. At the same time, I don't think we should just trash our envi...

What the Anandtech benchmarks say to me, is that teir system was not really HDD-bound to the point that the iRAM made a huge difference, and that unless you're looking for absolutely the best perfomance you can possibly get and damn the expense, there's no real reason to get the iRAM.

Cache doesn't matter so much because AMD64 has such rockin' memory bandwidth and low memory latency. It would be more accurate to say that a large cache doesn't matter as much as it does on an intel chip, which is of course true. But more is always better, especially when you consider that the whol...

Humans have just as much of a right to be here as the animals do, and if they can't compete with us or adapt to our presence, so be it. I think it is important to try and preserve wild animals for a number of reasons. (1) Biodiversity is interesting. There are some extinct animals that our ancestor...

I don't have any problem with hunting seals. Not at all.

In fact, I would be interested to know what seal meat tastes like.... And sealskin is highly useful.

Anyway, my point is that either the birds adapt by finding better nesting grounds, or they die.

My opinion about CPU upgrading is, unless you can get a CPU that's AT LEAST 66% faster (preferably twice as fast), it's not worth the money. And usually, that's impossible within a single socket type, so it's better to upgrade the motherboard too. If you're smart about what socket you get though, th...

If the birds taste better than the rats, we should eat them instead. Who cares if a few inferior species die off? There's no tangible negative consequence to humans if either the rats or the birds go extinct. Humans meddle in these affairs too much. Take for example the Florida panthers. Their numbe...

The XP-120 will hold the fan further away from the board, allowing the air to spread out more in a cone-shaped pattern, opening toward the motherboard. However, the fins will block some of the air, so it won't be perfect. The Zalman will end up blowing most of the air straight out, but with more res...
