on a lighter note, the google translation (French to english) is interesting reading A few years ago, the tendency of the food was with the color. The persons in charge marketing left us the blocks increasingly more beautiful, with pretty cables sheathed and sometimes of the reactive connectors to t...

Actually, I don't think the news piece is really blaming Apple, it's just a way of bringing attention to the issue of potential and real hearing damage from personal music players w/headphones or earphones. It is definitely an awareness thing, most of all, but the MP3 players make it easier to self...

Ahh yes the great 'blame the company for the users problems'. Still, might save a few peoples ears. Personally I don't see this as a complete solution though, the real solution is educating people of issues of long exposure to loud music. It would be good to see a bit of acknowledgement from the mus...

its definately possible, especially considering the reputation of coolmax. Replace it pronto with a decent brand 24pin native PSU, with decent 12V rail (s). For a prescott i'd suggest at least a 20A 12V rail, and most importently reputable brand.

opticals and hard drives also draw from 5V rail (as well as 12V). the motors draw off 12V rail, and the electronics draw off 5V rail. pci cards, well depends, not that they're a heap. I'd be guessing the videocard will also draw off 5V and 3.3V mainly.

for one yes, but the guy above has a dual p3 setup, so 20A 5V (100W) will be cutting it fairly close. Also the lower models have smaller 5V rails.

http://www.silentpcreview.com/article226-page1.html

30A 5V rail should be enough for that system

doubt it since cpu is going to be powered off 5V rail. try something with a largish 5V rail like a tagan 420w (40A 5V).

That guide looks fine, except that most PSU's don't have an aux connector. Depending on psu it is often possible to measure it off the 3.3V rail from a sata connector (if they've got some metal exposed on outside). but other times you gotta stick the probe inside the sata connector itself (not recom...

don't trust software readings! anyways AFAIK the seasonic issue with DFI boards has nothing to do with sagging rails, its about 5vsb surge currents at startup tripping its sensitive protection circuits of the seasonic PSU (well best conclusion from information avaliable). good analysis of issue here...

I'm fully aware of that. As did zippy / pc p @ c. I'm merely suggestion the tecnical nature of the problem is largely DFI's fault, given that a motherboard shouldn't have surge currents on 5VSB out side of atx spec. or something :) . The following link explains what i'm saying better. http://www.xtr...

to me perhaps it sounds like: "why have you got an SLI board unless your running an SLI setup. and since your not using SLI currently, why have such a high rated PSU when 350w sp2 350w will do the job as well (minus the bling/modular). " but yeah not very clear :D And yep they love to inflate them. ...

Silverstone Zeus ST56ZF PSU Can i make a suggestion? there has been a fair bit of contoversy about this PSU in regard to its cross loading requirements. Any chance as part of the review you can test how well it handles a lot of 12V load, but not much 5V/3.3V load (to simulate a heavily overclocked ...
