I'm pretty sure you don't need an inlet fan. Two outlet fans should be entirely adequate for this system. As for ducting the Ninja, you can see in my articles in the Do-It-Yourself section of SPCR how simple it is to duct out the back case hole of the P180. The sides of the heat sink tower line up ...

Re: how about moving away from the pc?

I am thinking of moving my PC away from me, like in a linen closet right outside my room. Nothing dampens sound more than nice fluffy towels. I am planning to work with 3 cables: 5m or 10m cable HDMI for video to my BenQ FP241W monitor. 5m or 10m cable 1394b connection for a 3 to 4 bay enclosure fo...

where?wolf Yes i have removed the stamped grilles at all the intake and exhaust ports. I have also remove the two swing out doors that are infront of the front filters. I then painted the area around them black, so that it looks pretty nice. My PSU is a Enermax 495 watts, that has a large intake fa...

I'd start removing fans. I'm pretty sure you could remove at least one. However, you may not appreciate the improvement until you deal with the GPU cooler if it happens to be noisy. Thank you very much for the help! Much appriciated. I will give closing the top hole a try. The vga cooler is soon on...

It would be easier answer if you were more specific about your goals. Are you trying to make it as quiet as possible? And what's your CPU, GPU and how many hard drives do you have? Generally speaking, if you put a duct on your Ninja to either the top or rear fan, your CPU temps should go down and y...

Only you can say for sure. Unplug the Nexus and see what happens to your drive temps. As for a CPU duct, I don't know that it would make much of a difference or whether you would need one at all. Again, only you can say for sure. Make one and see what happens. It really depends on what you are tryi...

Re: fan question

I am running 3 SATA drives in the lower hd pull out cage, in a P180 case. I have the 120mm fan inbetween the hd cage and the power supply. Is there any advantage to moving the fan out of the center, and trying to install it infront of the hd cage? I don't know if there is enough room to do this, bu...

Lower psu tunnel fan. to be or not to be?

Hi! I whas just wondering if you guys, can tell me if I can loose the psu tunnel Nexus fan? I have a 480W psu with 2 silent 80mm fans at 1100 RPM after 1 1/2 hours, according to the fan monitor. And I have 2 Raptors down in the cage. The Nexus I have there now is running at 7V. The idle temps of the...

A 1900GT will not draw 30A or anything even close to that, 30A on the 12V line is 360W which is twice the power draw of a 8800GTX. It's more like 8A or something. The enermax is more than powerful enough, but a seasonic S12 would be quieter. Totally fanless is very unpractical, and in most cases wo...

Re: New case (P180B) and some upgrades (chipset & VGA)

First thing. Do you really need all that hd's in the case? Maybe try to move some of the "least important" ones to external USB enclosures as backup disks? That many hds will produce a lot of heat and noise. And even if you use rounded cables for all those hd's. You will have problems with that many...

Cheaper than Swe shops and you can't get the duct in "gamla Svedala" ;) All in a neat pack with the S-clip as well so that you can turn the cooler if your socket is in the wrong direction. http://pc-cooling.de/de/Kuehler/AMD+Athlon+64/Thermalright/100700352/Thermal...

Would a duct work with XP 90 too? I forgot to say, that I have a 120mm Nexus on the heatsink now.

And would that bend on the duct have any restricting impact on the airflow do you think?
