I've witnessed similar temp differences between cores I had an E6600 with core0 being +5 hotter than core1 no matter what I was doing with it. possibly disrupting airflow and creating deadspots, if you don't use the fan, do you seal up the side or leave it as a vent?

I'm guessing VX is non-modular, Corsair are still not done with their PSU range, still higher end to come.

To people that are claiming no buzz. Have you tried listening to it in a silent room, with only one harddrive and no fans running in the computer? Try loading the CPU as well. I believe that people claiming no buzz haven't actually taken the time, in a silent environment with zero other distraction...

yea, but apparently all the exhausts (rear and top) are enough to draw in air from the bottom intake over the hard drives, I'm very excited about this case, if/when I get it, I'd definitely fit a fan over the drive cage to aid the intake. Bare in mind that drives don't need a great deal of cooling, ...

You may very well be right about that ... if the posters above with no buzz/whine are on 120V then it could be that these particular PSUs have no buzz/whine on 120V while there is a higher chance of exhibiting some when on 220V. How many of you guys who posted above (that have no buzz/whine) are on...

C&Q is better because it drops the voltage and multiplier more than EIST. The lowest multiplier for Core 2's is 6 so on the E6420 system I just built EIST drops the multiplier from 8 to 6 and vCore from 1.35V to 1.20V. Not really a lot of power savings there. I imagine it'd be more effective on Cor...

the HR-03 will cool an X1900XTX passively BUT it is highly dependent on certain factors with the most important being the room/case temp. 25C room temp, case panel off, pure passive it would load about 80C, the VRM would go upto 70C, would take an eternity to drop back to idle temp Just adding an ak...

being an owner of a Corsair HX620W, the only way its going to be the loudest component would be if you have no fans and a solid state hard drive.

if its truely making a racket you might have a faulty psu.

The Corsair units have ultra quiet fans, in audible even in a minimal fan machine.

If you have one and are speaking from experience, highly likely you have a duff unit.
