elpbibe10: where do you live? I absolutely adore Soldam Windy cases and would pay a handsome fee to own one. I was under the impression they're almost impossible to acquire outside of Japan. If you've found a supplier for North America or Europe, PLEASE... PLEASE share your wisdom! Hi Moogles, I've...

I'm scratching my head trying to figure out the advantages of the odd airflow design. :?: So lets see if I got this straight -- 1) There are two side walls on each side, separated by perhaps 1/2" to 1"? 2) The air comes in via the vents near the back of each side panel, then is guided by the inner ...

My Black Beauty using Soldam ALCADIA ZR2000 SSV case

This is my web surfing, music listening & productivity rig called BLACK BEAUTY . Priorities for this rig are : - must be inaudible from where I'm sitting (about 1m away & with the aircon switched on) - must be cool running (i.e. CPU & Gfx Card must be below 30 deg C & 50 deg C at idle respectively) ...

It really depends on how much power your system is drawing.

For example, my E6600 web surfing rig uses about 90W on typical load so I bought a Seasonic S12II 330W which is more than sufficient for a cool and quiet (as well as power efficient) operation.

This could be another reason for the improved performance :

"The cutting pattern Thermalright used (for the SI-128SE) is no longer circular in nature, rather the baseplate cuts are unidirectional and as such, the base appears more flat than SI-128."

Install your Audigy 5.25" bay unit in an external optical drive case and your problem will be solved.

No, it is a sleeve bearing fan made by Adda. Becomes pretty much inaudible at 1,000 rpm.

Not recommended as the HR-03 Plus' fan will be touching the back of your sound card and that may block off the air intake of the fan.

How is the minebeas noise vs performance ? i'm thinking to buy a couple of the low speed ones to control with the Kama Meter. I've only tried the low speed 1,100rpm version and it is noticeably quieter than the S-Flex 'E'. Airflow seems to be quite similar. Compared to the Noctua, both the Minebea ...

From what I understand (manual, Zalman Q&A) the fans ban be set to 1000 RPM min with the settings, but when the machine is running you can lower the RPM below the 1000 RPM. Or in other words, their settings won't let you store a value lower than 1000 RPM in memory for a specific fan. One reason the...

One fan is sufficient and it should be at the mouth of the upper cage which is some distance away from the front panel. It'll not only cool the graphics card but the Northbridge as well (which is actually rather hot). I have a Scythe Minebea (Low Speed) as the sole intake fan (undervolted to run at ...

I have a P182 and after some experimenting, the best place to put the intake fan is near the graphics card, that is at the opening of the upper hard drive cage that will render the cage unusable for hard drives. The drive cage acts as a funnel for fresh air to be 'sucked in' and is really effective ...

I'm using the Zalman ZM-MFC2 in my P182. Fits without any modification and is about 1/2 inch away from the closed door. The rpm range in ZM-MFC2 seems to be from 1000 to 5940. Do you think it's useful range? The lower limit is set quite high, I think. The product description is incorrect. It can ac...

Yes, they can be removed. First thing I did with the P182 was to remove all the stock fans and replace them with a Scythe Minebea and a couple of Noctua's. I'm thinking about buying Minibea for my 182, how do they sound and perform (the 1100 RPM) compared to the Noctuah ? Thanks They're really good...
